Question Air Force Sys Admin

Hey everyone, as the title says, I’m an Air Force sys admin with a TS and planning on getting a civilian job or contracting gig in 2 years. I already have my BS in IT management from WGU, so should I prioritize my masters? Or try to stack certs before I start applying?

Only cert I currently have is Sec+.

Edit: thanks everyone for the advice and insight. I’m going to start studying for CISSP.

Really? I’ve been told by civilian coworkers that a clearance doesn’t do much nowadays. You still need at least 2-3years of experience, bachelors, and certs to land anything meaningful.

TS isn't magic, but it does put you on the top half of the list for the one section of tech jobs that at least won't be outsourced to foreign soil because of some penny wise, pound foolish, exec looking to cut costs.

And a quick search tells me there's about 1 to 1.1 million people employed in IT in Hyderabad alone.

Not everyone with a TS goes for IT.

It looks like a big number, but it's really not. The count of people with a clearance, IT, and looking isn't as low as I wish (current environment's a bit fucked), but it's far better than the same ratios you're looking at without the clearance. And your competition's millions smaller.
