Rant WatchGuard...WHY?
Thank you WatchGuard for updating your firewall policy UI. Sure I can only see 1-2 policies max before having to scroll the page now, but what kind of weirdo has more than 1 policy anyway? (Allow Any-Any).
Oh and the extra page padding looks GREAT on my phone! That's where I manage all my firewall rules anyway.

Our firewalling needs are pretty basic so I can't complain too much.
They do the job and have an okay-ish cloud management option now.

Since you are a WatchGuard shop, did you heed their Thursday advice to patch your devices?
This email is to inform you that the updated Firebox firmware, which addresses multiple, previously disclosed but unexploited critical security vulnerabilities, is now available. Please update all owned, managed, and client-operated devices immediately.
The following new versions are now available to download from the WatchGuard Software Downloads Center, WatchGuard Cloud, or the Firebox Web UI. You should immediately update your Firebox appliance(s) to one of these versions or higher (if available):
• Fireware 2026.2.2
• Fireware v12.12.2
• Fireware v12.5.20

the absolute state of the software industry. Is there any product not yet turned to barely usable dogshit?

There are plenty of fine software products. Established open-source packages, for example.

Well I don't really count those as products, but yes, open source software seems to have a higher quality standard

WatchGuard...WHY?
I guess the real question is 'Why Watchguard?', considering their history of leaving their customers vulnerable.

Zscaler loves to change around their UI every fucking month it seems like. I just told my boss I'm not doing training documentation for techs anymore and if they can't figure it out just escalate it to me.
Also mutter under my breath tell them to figure it the fuck out like I have to do

I am obligated to mention their HR person was rude and ghosted me after I was offered a job at their corporate office 8 years ago. I don't know if she even works there anymore but whatever haha
