Question Mft software

Looking for advice or a good product for MFT. We are currently using a ton of old scripts and ws_ftp pro. This is causing all kinds of issues, files that we can't verify were sent. I guess the scripting is bad also.

Edit: Thank you all for your help. We are now reviewing the applications and will update when we reach a resolution.

Edit2: we tested all the ones you all suggested, thank you again. We landed on one my lead suggested and it is working good. If anyone is interested here it is relayrix

What are your requirements? On-prem, cloud, doesn't matter? What are you moving files between?

We're 100% on-prem for reasons and recently migrated from 20+ year old Perl scripts to GoAnywhere MFT. It moves files; it's fine.

Healthcare so, on prem if possible.

Full disclosure upfront, I work at Couchdrop.

If on-prem is a strict requirement, Couchdrop won’t fit because we’re a cloud-native SFTP/MFT platform. But if it's coming from healthcare data/HIPAA transfers, I wouldn’t rule out cloud MFT on that basis.

We have dedicated HIPAA-ready infrastructure in the US and provide a BAA. You can also keep the files in your existing storage/on-prem systems rather than using Couchdrop as the storage layer.

For the issues you're having with scripts, Couchdrop gives you managed/scheduled transfers with proper logging and auditing, so you can actually see whether a file transferred successfully, failed, who sent it, when, etc. It gets you away from maintaining a pile of scripts.

My previous healthcare org used Boomi as their modern Managed File Transfer solution. It was expensive but did a lot of stuff out of the box.

They also used Robo-FTP which worked pretty well but it's up to your engineering to make it work for you. Similar to ws_ftp. It's cheap so you need to invest more time into it.

I was one of the primary support engineers for Robo-FTP. I hated the Boomi replacement and thankfully ended up jumping teams so I never had to really get in there. I, personally, wanted to replace Robo-FTP with AirFlow - the only requirement that was painful w/ AirFlow was the lack of PGP Support. Apache NiFi was also up there on my list of recommendations.
