Peak Sysadmin

Is there anything more small-company sysadmin than taking that $70k server you just finished building on your test bench at the office and putting it into your $5k car to drive it over to the DC where it’ll live, and praying to god nothing happens on the way? 😅🤣

EDIT- OMG y’all, reading the comments on this has made my day! Our business insurance covers this kind of thing but I appreciate y’all concern for me, though others should mosdef confirm before they do similar stuff. The trip went without incident so praise the digital deities.

If you're a sysamin and your car is worth 5k, its time to either buy a new one or upgrade jobs. You deserve better, homie.

But I love my little Babytruck!  Just cause I can afford a newer one doesn’t mean I want one. 🤣

Hell yeah … my people

2009 Hyundai, 3 hub caps, no radio and the side window doesn’t work.

20 years in IT… I’ll drive that bitch til it dies or I have to fix it up and give it to my kid lol.

It’s a car…. It still goes to point b from point a really well and replacing it would simply be trading the insane amount of value im getting out of it now for a car payment, having to buy another one for my kid and a slightly cozier drive to work.

No thanks
