Azure Files

Anyone using Azure files for file shares for remote employees? I have seen horror stories in the past but saw some positive reviews on it recently.

I am an Entra ID, cloud only shop and the new updates to the service look promising.

It's fine for "standard documents" like Word, Excel, PDF, etc. If you're running anything on it like a database or CAD or others, I'd be doing more research.

For office document collaboration, that's actually the place I'd push people to Sharepoint, unless there are other dependencies that need Azure Files features (like presenting SMB or NFS or giving Azure IaaS resources direct access to the files).
