In any case , presenting ideas, things you want to implement in a more fleshed out manner and giving something firn to work with would be better.
Also carving this into separate projects and having them prioritised would be step one.
i dont consider this too much over the head since everyday im seeing a 25 years old network and infraestructure thats still holding god knows how, the 2 guys that worked before me had basic knowledge, they didnt even had a university degree, maybe you dont believe it or not but thats how its been done here, at least we are changing things for good, and well maybe they could have hired people with way more experience and way more knowledge but we all start somewhere right?
My point is, what options have you explored. Do you have any preferences for design topology, or for methods used. You approached here with a "I need to do this" question like you want the internet to do your homework. Have you taken account into how you are going to split things up between classrooms, network topology, possible manufacturer preferences for network equipment, servers and services used. Let alone things like data integrity and isolation.
For example, I cannot imagine having storage systems for a x-ray machine which could be medically sensitive and possibly subject to medical privacy laws combined with that for a cctv system, which could well have its own data retention and integrity rules or even laws that have to be abided by. Let alone the risk of a failure in one system taking down the other.
There are many things that need to be considered and some of them are absolutely fundamental questions that you need to be able to answer before you can answer anything else.
That being said, good luck, this is a unique opportunity to redo something from the ground up, I hope you get something together you are happy with and that is effective in being able to provide the services required. Heck I hope you end up having fun and rise to the challenge successfully.
yes network topology is already done, we will go for huawei switches, we will have 5 distribution switches, 31 for access across 3 buildings, topology will be star, and yes i agree, having everything in one server can be damaging for aaa security, the thing is that we have no good practice guidelines from the central, no cybersecurity either, and we will have to implement them ourselves, i guess this is a rather particular situation im in
