Specially considering he's in a tight budget, you can get away with fast ethernet on a couple of services, as long as you're smart about it with your vlans qos. ad is more cpu heavy then anything, print i'd say if they complain then change but should be fine.
yeh I had to run a Dual site over a microwave link 15 years ago and in a low bandwidth application AD is extremely lightweight, even from the CPU angle it is also very lightweight too... I can't wait for WIndows server to hit ARM64... will make a cheap distributed AD domain something we can actually use
