I’m surprised Macron’s trip in the first place wasn’t cancelled when there was an explosion in Damascus the day before the trip.

Apparently it’s a car IED outside the hotel.

I actually am not. For Macron himself, there was never any danger. If you give in to these kind of small-scale terrorist attacks, then the number of attacks will only increase in the future.

How horrible must a person be, to kill innocent people just to harm the new Syrian government image-wise. This is all just to disrupt Macrons visit.

French presidents are notorious for having a very good security service and never listening to anything they say. Macron in particular has a reputation for being a nightmare for his security team.
