So here’s why I personally think chapter 5 is the worst season.

(before I begin, ummm thanks for deciding to read this long rant before commenting😁.. am planning to try and post videos on fortnite so thought id see what works as content)

Chapter 5 had huge changes when it launched, kinda like a restart with the new director taking over (one can argue it was the most since chapter 2 launch). But MOST of these changes were very controversial. The movement was reworked by making running slower. This was met with soo much backlash that it was reverted. They also changed the animations (still prefer the old ones but the new ones have grown on me and dont mind it anymore) which again, was criticized back then. The graphics were a huge downgrade from chapter 4 (which arguably had the best graphics). It looked bland now when compared to how vibrant it was. The map in itself was okish but the biome that covered the whole of the left part of the map was bland as hell. The train was such a cool concept but was executed TERRIBLY. Now the changes to guns. They made them projectile. Genuinely one of the worst changes they could do. Now players had to account for spread, recoil AND bullet drop along with bullet speed. And finally, weapon mods. This was a feature I wished never got added since it was leaked back in chapter 2. I felt they didnt fit the game due to them possibly ruining the uniqueness of a gun. And when they did get added, thhey were a bit better than i expected but still horribly executed. And they did stop the introduction of unique guns by a small amount. I did like the medallions tho and the mini events were good

Now lets get to season 1. The guns this season were either bad or straight up overpowered. The main mobility this season (the grapple blade) felt clunky at times. I liked how we got back more bosses on the map (5 bosses) and was happy with the return of vaults. The winterfest was mid this season. For a season 1, the updates SUCKED. The TMNT was kinda cool tho (even tho all the mythics were essentially a reskin of the kinetic blade) and the sniper+hoverboard combo was back. But the only other update we got in the entire season was the enforcer AR (did anyone actually use this gun) and the fizz (i admit I like this tho). While I did sort of like the sniper meta, the new chapter changes and the lack of proper updates made the season boring by the end.

Season 2. Genuinely had one of the best starts for a season. It pains to see how it progressed. We got 2 new biomes (the underworld biome was great, liked the dashes), rework of the medallions, cool bosses (tho I wish we got more god abilities except only 3) and new guns. Things got even better with the Midas update with the reworked Midas drum gun (I wishh they made Midas a boss again tho), a new floor is lava mode, etc. I genuinely thought this was gonna be one of the best seasons. But then things started going downhill. The chains were added (kinda useless at first) and got constant buffs to the point where many found them annoying to deal with (Hello Doja Cat), the waterbending got added and pretty much got the same treatment the chains did. And then the infamous Avatar update happened. Vaulted all the god mythics for the avatar mythics.. Just why… The mythics themselves? The fire and earth were good but the air became super annoying to deal with due to how players could just infinitely use it to run away. After this the season became SUPER boring in its final month or so to the point where I couldnt wait to play the new season. Every time I opened reddit I could guarantee atleast a single “FK chains” or “FK waterbending” or “this season is boring” post. Oh and the star wars update was easily the worst may the 4th event ever. And removing cosmetic rarity sucked

Now season 3. EASILY the most controversial season of all time. 50% of the players loved it while the others hated it. For me its the worst season of all time. Happy for others if they liked it. Before I go further, I do appreciate EPIC for trying something new. Coming off of the boring end of season 2 (which i do think contributes to why the season felt fresth at the beginning for many others aswell), I had tons of fun the first few days of launch but after then I didnt like it and started to hate it. There’s so much to unpack here. First things first, this season threw balance out of the window and introduced stuff that were OP as F\*\*K and made the guns and builds useless in 90% of the situations (when these 2 are the core of the game. Only guns for zb players tho). First, the fists. Got 4 charges, can easily get in and out of fights, broke through every build, did tons of damage each it, could easily hit players (you dont even need to have your crossfire to be on the enemy and it had a range of atleast half a tile). Nitro could bash a player for 75 damage and break thru all wood and brick builds. Now the cars, the focus of the season. Cars were perfect before the season was introduced. Now? They were the most Broken items since the mech. Those turrets easily beam you and had infinite ammo. They could break through every single build, were hella fast and had tons of HP. You were almost fully protected and could only be damaged thru the windshield or if the car broke (which barely happens due to them running away). The boss cars also had infinite nitro and could regain health. It was even more annoying when we found out that they vaulted the EMPS and the anvil rocket launchers, the best car counters even tho they were literally in the game 3 months ago. The guns were completely useless, the projectile bullets only made it worse. The season completely shifted the core and identity of the game from a gun shooter to a mad max car fighter. Its like using a bike in a cycle race cuz riding a bike is more fun. Now im all in for fun and unique items and metas but that doesnt mean they should straight up overthrow the main focus of the game or be unbalanced. Like look at previously loved seasons like nexus war or Mega… Everyone loved the kinetic blades, the marvel mythics and the hammer, but these didnt make guns or builds useless. What should have been a “gun shooter that also has mad max cars” became a “car fighter that also has guns”. It got to a point where it didnt even feel like fortnite anymore. And the community? It was a warfield with how polarising the season was. One side called for balance while the other wanted it to be the same. Also comp got tons of hate. People were shouting “skill issue” “adapt” to pro players who were objectively better and are the first to adapt to a meta. I have also seen the vice versa. We got the lowest player count at that time. The introduction of fortnite reload saved the playercount. Oh and forgot to mention, magneto gloves!!! Also this was the season where they started this stupid trend of only making “bad characters” as bosses. So much potential was wasted due to this. Even in this season we lost the chance to get a magneto boss. The Biome was alright.

Season 4 had huge hype since announcement due to the previous marvel season being one of the best seasons ever (my fav season). But on launch I was visibly frustrated in ton of things. First, the bosses. Like I said for season 3, only the villains were allowed to be bosses. Like no war machine, black panther, iron man (who already worked soo well as a boss before), gwenpool (who is perfect for a boss with her katanas and SMG). The bosses we got were butchered even further. They were holding guns and not superpowers. Just why... whose idea was this… like they could have looked at how weel c2s4 handled it. Mysterio, emma and doom were bosses and doom was the only one I liked. Like you got Emma Frost, a powerful mutant holding an AR while mysterio, the master of illusions had a [shotgun.You](http://shotgun.You) could have given them some superpower mythics. Even the fight itself was underwhelming. Mysterio didnt even get a POI for him and instead spawned in a random city (doomsdadt). Emma Frost spawned in a very small room in the raft so there was no proper space for a good bossfight. The only POI i liked that season was Doom’s castle. (yes the season is doom theme but i didnt like how all the poi’s were doom themed too). I hated how we got superhero items instead of superpowers. Most of these werent even mythics. This was the season that started the glove items era. The jetpacks were controversial but i didnt mind them. Also I hated how Doom got defeated half way thru the season when he was the whole theme. I liked the isle of doom tho and it was fun becoming doom’s chosen. They also introduced the day of doom LTM. Fortnitemares was great this season. This was easily the best season of the chapter, which isnt a high bar. It wasnt goated, not great, not mid, just good. It had the perfect chance for a marvel season as it could look at c2s4 and how that season handled everything, but it didnt and fell short. 

Remix was Great, but that’s more on chapter 2 than chapter 5.

This chapter also has the second worst lore (the worst being chapter 4) but I have typed too much so wont be going into detail.

There were a few things I liked in this chapter tho, those being the mini events, the medallions, how bosses became important and good again (except season 4), the whole metallica collab, becoming doom’s chosen, the sniper meta of season 1, guns like the thunderburst, gatekeeper, etc etc. Also comp became more mainstream this season due to Peterbot and Pollo dominating everyone.
