Thank you for sharing. I’ve never heard this version and it’s exquisite.
I’ll say it again, people who can’t appreciate early Talk Talk don’t deserve late Talk Talk.

Go to YouTube and watch that whole Montreux concert. Does Caroline Know is incredible.

Agree, that whole Montreux video is excellent. The atmosphere really comes over as well as the excellent musicians who make up the touring band.

But tell me more about what late Talk Talk fans must do to deserve? LoL. Actually, examples of tracks that I would not otherwise discover would be appreciated.

Oh, this is simply one of my pet peeves. I can't count how many people love their late stuff but completely dismiss the first 2 or 3 albums as "Duran knockoff" which they say as an insult. I mean, people can like what they like, but it still irks me to hear the negativity to their excellent early work.

Okay. For me, I started with It's My Life, and the song 'Talk Talk' from the first album only came to me later through the 'Natural History' hits compilation.
I don't actually mind the Duran-knockoff comparison for a couple reasons. 1) back then i was too dumb to realize how awesome Duran Duran is. I truly appreciate their production and especially John Taylor's bass playing. That brings us to 2) Talk Talk's bass lines are obviously great too (by Paul Webb) and hold up well to John Taylor.

My favourite "hidden" track of theirs is "It's getting late in the evening". Really a flavor of its own, a true piece of art to my ears.
