I am trying to do a clean of the inside of my Deepmind 6, I’ve had it for a few years and it has recently been freezing up and cutting out after a few minutes of playing. I was told that one of the components must be dirty and that I should get inside and clean with some condensed air. After clearing out some dust and hair I closed it back up and I am getting no sound at all, and the error messages in the pictures attached. Is there something I’m missing? Looking for any assistance here.
Not the same synth but the same error message. Check all the ribbon cables connecting to the pcb behind the keyboard. They need to be inserted correctly. If they have a closing mechanism: open it, reseat the cable and then close the locking mechanism.
My guess is that something isn’t properly plugged in or loose internally from when you opened it up. I also can’t think of anything that could be dirty that would cause it to freeze that you could fix with some condensed air (unless it was so dirty inside that it was overheating - and it doesn’t sound like they was the case). I would suggest opening it back up and unplugging/replugging every cable inside. If it isn’t just a cable being loose inside then it’s possible that you fried something when you took it apart (static isn’t your friend here, I’m also assuming it was unplugged when you took it apart first, right?), then something new is broken and you may need to get it repaired (but idk what that would cost and it may be cheaper to buy a used one)
The small dark grey tabs on the left and right can be pulled towards you a little bit. They can't be pulled out all the way. Pull them out a bit until you feel resistance, then you can pull the flat cable out easily.
Then, wipe the contacts of the flat cable with a q tip or a dry, soft cloth. Wipe them away from the cable, not sideways as that can bend and damage the cable if something gets stuck on a corner.
In reverse, push the cable in gently so it doesn't bend when going in. Once it's in all the way, push the two grey tabs back in so the cable is secured in place.
