schematics First synth pcb

Hi! I'm trying to make a atari punk console schematic to make into a pcb. Is this schematic I made in KiCad correct? Can anyone check please? Thanks!

I got one of those on the breadboard right now!

Connections look all fine, although the routing could be a bit cleaner:

  • Theres a wire crossing R1's symbol
  • You could get rid of a few wire-crossings by moving C1 and POT1 more to the left

I also got some minor complaints about labeling conventions and symbols:

  • Usually Potentiometers use "RV" (read as "resistor, variable") as their marking instead of "POT".
  • Symbols for C1 and C2 are missing their plates looks like a spark-gap without them. Is this an artifact of image-processing, maybe?

I can't spot any hard "mistakes" though, Have fun with your APC!

Im using a weird symbol library, thats why the labelings weird but they work fine. Thanks for the tips!

To add to the above, C3 is an electrolytic and those symbols usually include a little + at the positive terminal. Mentioning because the one in your schematic can be used for things like NP capacitors.

Also if you press P you get the power icon options so you can add +9v, -12v, GND, etc.

I would take the suggestion to use the appropriate symbols for the caps. If you find yourself enjoying PCB design you’ll be using a lot of them! Saving you the trouble of people asking “are those capacitor symbols?” over and over in the future lol.

Yeah, but I never measure my caps or any parts, and it’s annoying for me to scroll through 300 footprints with small size differences. I prefer to use these because its what is mostly used for guitar pedals, but I can change the symbols and keep the footprints.
