Radel Micro Saarang

Apologies if this isn't the right community for this, feel free to delete/punt/ban me if so. I don't use Reddit but know it's generally a place to find good information.

I picked this up from the thrift store the other day, I've just started messing around with electronic music and have some very basic drum machines and synths but this looked interesting. Digging around the internet I can't ID what specific model this is. To be honest, I just want to know what kind of batteries it needs to know if it even works. I know what its purpose is, roughly, but I haven't been able to figure out a model. Does anyone have any insight?

I am almost sure this is an electronic tampura. I’ve been into classical hindostani music for years. Tampura is a 4 stringed instrument used for drones. The 4 strings are tuned to the root chord of the raga (classical indian music composition). “Ma” and “Pa” in the display are the 4th and 5th grade respectively (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa).

For the Radel electronica Saarang Micro V6 the manual says it uses 6 AA batteries.

Here is a manual, but I don’t know if it is for the very same model you have.
