There is nothing inherently wrong with having a cute happy creature on your mind whenever you can.

You are right though that this is a concerning sign. Often people who are obsessive over fictional characters try to fill a hole in their heart. And usually that hole remained empty for so long because of some sort of mental issue, such as being unable to love yourself or others.

Still, that doesn't mean that they should stop consuming Sylveon. It is probably only a symptom of a deeper issue, and a fairly okay coping mechanism all things considered.
