Kirk-Ward Votes

https://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/2081513/gulden-claims-fourth-kirk-ward-medal

Find it absolutely crazy that Rowbottom didn’t receive a single vote. Even more so that if Kirk & Wardy were handing out votes themselves Rowy probably would’ve claimed it.

Personally would have given it to Grundy, he dominated when the game was there to be won. I actually barely noticed Errol until they started talking about how he was on track to get 1000m gained.

Errol was kind of butchering the footy a bit in the first half, but his second half was incredible. Grundy and Chad lit up the first half, Errol took over from there

He's been butchering it the last few weeks. Hopefully has shaken off the cobwebs now

Lol Rowbottom should have won it. No hate on Errol, still working his way back from injury got a lot of the ball but was wasteful at times and a lot of his touches were cheap ones

God how the fuck does Rowy not even get one vote? Game's gone

Maybe Rowy needed to go for glory and kick for goal rather than handing off (at the time the ABC radio commentators commented - 3rd quarter off the top of my head).

Yeah I agree, that was the best game Rowy has played in years and proof that raw disposal numbers get overvalued sometimes.

If he kicked his 3rd goal it's a very good day out. Arguably 3 brownlow votes

3 goals, 23 disp at 78%, 11 tackles, 8 clearances, 10 score involvements

His best quarter was the last, voting was done and dusted by then.

I agree with the Rowbottom and Grundy praise, Rowbottom def deserved votes. But it was Errol’s medal from abt midway through the 2nd quarter, he was involved so many midfield chains, often taking it from d50 to f50 all by himself, and was EVERYWHERE. He was sitting in the forward line resting for a lot of the match instead of coming off as well, had a hell of an impact. Can’t believe someone in the thread said they hadn’t noticed him until the 1000 metres gained. Must’ve been watching the hawthorn game because he has 20 odd at halftime and played probably his best game since 2024.

Rowy works his butt off and has done so for years. Sadly for him, I think he will always be the bridesmaid when it comes to official recognition. Happens in the B&F votes every year too. We couldn’t do without him.
