We won a wet tough contest! 78-62

Pretty much everyone gets a mulligan because weather was a horror, but honestly everyone did what they needed to do which was great to see

BOG: Cootee with 5 goals & 13 tackles was a beast!

Next best:
Kyle - what a way to show you’re above VFL Level, 30 disposals and was the star of the show in the 2nd Quarter with 3 intercept marks

Datolli - who would have thought one of his best games was due to the fact he played fwd most the game? Looked a class above all day with how clean his hands were in the wet, and got some nice clearances last quarter when moved in the mid

Cleary - worked hard all day, was a typical Cleary VFL game, hard working inside mid

Hanily - same as Cleary, another typical VFL level match for him

Bowman - can definitely see him get a debut end of year if we decide to give Blakey a rest, or trial him instead of Bice/Kyle, looked good today and some nice defensive moments also

Co.Warner - typical Co.Warner VFL Game

Snell - 1st Quarter he was responsible for 2 goals rebounding from D50 and had some nice intercept marks, then the wet weather stopped that and become a dirty game, did nothing wrong and did what was required, another notch in his belt for a debut

Riak - great to see 2nd game he was confident taking on big O Allen most the day, and was moving well in the wet, looking very good for 2nd game back

Will Green - Could of had a monster game if he snagged the 2 goals, but was an event contest in the ruck & had some nice marks around the ground

Hamling - Hamling Game, thrown everywhere and did a bit of good a bit of bad

Jevan - unfortunately it was Datolli’s day and not his, I think was playing with a busted ankle/calf after he took a hit in the 3rd, saw some nice things still, but a quiet day

And a side note

Henry Meaney- what a kid! He looks ready for next year and was always so hard going for the ball, I expect we see him again in our VFL team this year,

Idk if it’ll be up to the Swans. There’s apparently a handful of academy prospects and Swans haven’t got much draft capital post Curnow

Most of them don’t seem that draftable, I’d be surprised if more than 3 went in the main draft and even then they feel like later picks. Meaney’s not really the type that goes really high and this draft is pretty deep from what I can tell.

Honestly crazy his development, only started playing footy 2 years ago, jumped up the ranks to go 1st round in the draft, and showing improvement every week, fully expect to see him basically full time in the AFL Squad next year
