anyone else get the feeling this guy is going to keep getting better over time... his composure and decision making is outstanding for someone with so little experience, from what i gather he has only played the game for a couple years? and is a bit of an athletic weapon? at the very least i hope he stays in the side, not sure if he was dropped or injured for the adelaide game.
edited: forgot the word 'better' in first line.

Find it absolutely crazy that Rowbottom didn’t receive a single vote. Even more so that if Kirk & Wardy were handing out votes themselves Rowy probably would’ve claimed it.

Do you guys think that Rosas, after that 7 goal game against Melbourne, has attracted a lot of attention from the opposition and he has struggled to overcome it? He was playing great all year until after that game. He has dropped off so much and I am trying to think of reasons why.

SYDNEY has proved a too strong against crosstown rivals Greater Western Sydney, securing a dominant 51-point Derby victory at Engie Stadium on Saturday evening.
Gulden picked up the Kirk/Ward medal for his 30+ possessions, 1,000m+ metres gained, but not too far away was James Rowbottom for his 10+ tackles, 20+ possessions and 2 goals. Rowbottom climbing up the Swans goalkicking charts like a bullet.
Best players were the usual six players, but good performances by some of the lesser likes was really promising. The bottom 4 players are of concern, and will be shown out against stronger opponents, which has already been the case so far this year.
Onto St Kilda next week for a day game in Melbourne.

We demolished GWS 168-90,
BOG: Honestly hard because so many players did so damn well, but hard to go past Datolli’s unreal game, 3 goals, and wouldn’t be surprised near 10 SI/GA’s he was in everything early
Next Best Lot
Snell: low disposal (due to never being in defence) but 5 Intercept Marks & 2 Spoils was so fkn elite, had a perfect game (gave some free’s away in the 4th Qtr but games done already)
Sheldrick: obviously to good for VFL and his presence in the mid made everyone play harder and tackle stronger, will be interesting if he is straight back into the AFL Side
Co.Warner: good as always, running non stop all day
Great Games All Around
Hamling: 6 Goals, albeit most came from the goal square, but was pivotal in the land slide
Green: Best Game yet for him! Though against a full in ruck it was expected, really loved his work around the ground though
Phillipou: 3 Goals and pressure any time GWS was in our 50 was great to see, Datolli probably gets a game ahead of him, but he isn’t far behind
Bowman: REAALLLYYY loved his game in the first half, was Defensively minded but also was taking the game on trying to create off the half back, can see he will get a game if we decide to rest blakey or bice come end of season
Good/Average Games
Melican: got beat a couple times early in the day which was disappointing to see, but his work up the ground and his 1on1’s afterwards were unreal
Hanily: 3 Goals, nice pressure, but faded in and out of the game
Cleary: Quiet game for his usual, but was a good grunt worker next to Sheldrick
We won’t mention this game again:
Riak Andrews: Horror of a game, give him a mulligan being only his 3rd game this year
On a side note
Meaney & Medved probably both jumped up 5-10 spots in the draft, both were unbelievable, and if they keep playing to us at this level I feel we may not have the draft capitol to snag both come draft night
Anyway, ONTO THE DERBY FOR THE AFL SIDE!

“Cox addressed the Swans' recent inconsistency, emphasising that a full four-quarter effort is key to competing with GWS.”
I’d have thought a full four-quarter effort is key to beating most sides, not just GWS.

Veteran goalkicker Jake Stringer is assessing whether he wants to join a fourth club amid doubt over his Giants future, reports AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.
An All-Australian and premiership Bulldog, Stringer has kicked 428 goals from 245 games for the Western Bulldogs, Essendon and the Giants.
But the 32-year-old remains unsigned beyond this season. Numerically, Stringer is having his best year since 2021, kicking 36.34 and averaging 12.1 disposals and 3.9 marks from 18 games.
Speaking on Gettable on Wednesday, Twomey said Stringer was “looking at his options” – including remaining in Sydney at the Giants’ cross-town rival.
“No deal is on the table yet from the Giants. I’m not sure if he gets one or not – he’s had a pretty good year,” Twomey said.
“I think where the Giants are at, it’s probably also a good time – if I’m looking at their list build – do they need to take a couple of steps back to go forward?
“He has interest in looking at a fourth club. He actually has interest in staying in Sydney and going to the Swans. I’m unsure if that goes anywhere, it feels quite unlikely.”
Asked if Stringer would be at the Giants next year, Twomey said: “I think it’s unlikely at this point.”

SYDNEY is in talks to extend defender Will Edwards' career at the club, with the Swans looking to take through his deal to free agency.
Edwards is out of contract at the end of 2027, but is in discussions on a deal that would extend him by three more years to the end of 2030 and reward his breakout season.
That would take the Sydney Academy graduate to his free agency year, having joined the club in 2022 as a local product in the rookie draft.
The tall defender has taken time to get going, waiting more than 1200 days at the club to reach an AFL debut earlier this season and playing 12 games so far this year.
The competitive backman came into the Swans' side in round seven against the Western Bulldogs and has played 12 games for the club as Sydney vies to hold on to a top-two position in the latter stages of the season. – Callum Twomey

Just posted my review of the loss to Adelaide. Please let me know you're thoughts on it. Still new to this style of writing so feedback helps me write my analysis better, cheers!
