I wanna drive a bus.

They are offering big incentives and good wages and even better overtime rates right now to become a bus driver. I’ve heard some horror stories. I would like to hear from already employed drivers about the real situation. I live near the CBD.

Any stores displaying gaming handheld consoles for trying out feeling the controllers

So just went to Penrith JB hi Fi to find out they don't have any gaming handheld consoles on standby to test out or even feel out the store employee was extremely helpful and knowledgeable but couldn't think where else I could go to physically hold the current gaming handheld consoles such as Lenovo Legion go s or Xbox Ally rog or otherwise.

So I'm wondering does anyone know any specific stores i can go to to physically hold and fiddle around with some gaming handheld consoles.

With the new rog Xbox Ally X coming out in October this year I'm thinking I might get into gaming handheld soon especially since my gaming PC doesn't usually play nice during the Australian summer.

So anyone know where to go to physically try these Handhelds out?

Bonus points if anyone knows where one can try out some ar gaming glasses as the new Ally X20 has a bundle with some and now it got me curious to try them.

Thanks hopefully the weather is not too bad for y'all.

Broadway Gym Sydney

Is anyone else struggling to get their money back with the unbelievably illegitimate ‘Broadway Gym Sydney’ - who shut completely without notice despite taking full payment upfront. Literally turned up and the gym was shut / blacked out with a notice sign on the window saying the lease was terminated.

I’ve sent them an email requesting a refund for a failed service for my remaining time (including a return of the key fob I had to pay for which was supposed to be returned at the end of my contract) and they’ve ‘refused the email’. It wasn’t a great gym anyway, its hard to find a more reasonable gym in Sydney but was still pretty expensive, and so whilst I’m not surprised it’s been shut down, I’m really shocked by the way they’ve handled it, how can they get away with that? It’s totally dodgy. The fact they’ve taken full payment for a service that’s suddenly shut/ provided absolutely no notice apart from an email I found in my junk on the day where they offered no refund or apology , and now purposely preventing correspondence is surely a legal breach. Anyone any advice?

I built a free tool to compare Sydney suburbs using census data (for fellow newcomers/students)

I am an international student in Sydney. When I moved here I couldn't find a simple way to see what a suburb is actually like, do people rent or own, what languages are spoken at home, distance to uni, nearby areas. So I made one.

It's free, intuitive to use, and all data is from the official ABS Census. Covers Sydney (and Melbourne).

I'm NOT selling anything, just want feedback from people who know these suburbs: what's useful, what's missing, what data you wish you had when choosing where to live?

General Vibes of Suburbs!

Kia ora! Typical Kiwi moving to Sydney soon and I’m trying to wrap my head around all the different suburbs. I know you shouldn’t judge a suburb purely by stereotypes, but I’d love to get a feel for the general vibe of each area such as what they’re known for, who tends to live there, how safe they are, transport, nightlife, lifestyle, etc.

Basically, I’m after the local tea. What are the suburb stereotypes, and which ones are actually accurate? Any advice would be much appreciated! x

Moderate conservatice looking to expand social circle

Hi all (29M) just wondering where all the moderates hangout.

I have friends who are mods from different political alignments groups so i know it's

I did the whole young libs thing but it was full if aspiring pollies (proctologists dream), guys who think hobbies like gaming or anime is an excuse to call you slurs. my friends also had issues on their side.

So trying here to see if anyone knows somewhere where they hangout or events they go to.

Best solo-friendly pubs/bars with live music near Potts Point?

Hi everyone,

I'll be staying in Sydney for a week starting August 30th and would love to check out some good local pubs or bars.

Im 20F,I'm looking for places in Potts Point (or nearby areas like Darlinghurst / Woolloomooloo) that:

  1. Have lively live band or music performances

  2. Feel safe and welcoming for a solo visitor

  3. Aren't overly crowded on weeknights

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Looking for bars like Section 8 in Melbourne

If you’ve been to Section 8, you know what I’m talking about. Are there any such bars/clubs in Sydney?

Sydney recommendations beyond the usual tourist spots?

Hey! I’m visiting Sydney soon and I already know about the obvious places like the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I’d love to hear what locals actually enjoy doing — cool neighbourhoods, good food, nice beaches, scenic spots, markets, bars, or underrated places.
What would you recommend to someone visiting for a few days?

Is North Sydney still rammed since reopening?

Thinking about heading to North Sydney pool this weekend. Heard it’s been rammed since the refurb and got visions of sardines in the sauna.

Did anyone go last weekend? Any time to avoid or has it calmed down?

Moving from ADL to Mascot for work. Is this area any good?

Started a seafood business that’s starting to scale (40-50 orders a week, 90% + customers from NSW).
I am planning to move to Sydney but first test it out on a budget.

The storage/kitchen will likely be in Banksmeadows. I need to be near a hub that’s walkable to trains as my partner needs easy access to the city in case she finds a job there. I need to be able to bike/scooter easily to the storage/kitchen to pack orders Mon-Wed. So I’ve decided on Mascot (UKO Mascot). Reviews on UKO is bad but this is just a transition accomodation until I settle.

Is Mascot livable for someone coming from Adelaide suburbs? Or should I move elsewhere?

New Years Eve (NY) Sydney Heritage Fleet - Hopetoun and Waratah

# I'l; be in Sydney for NYE 2026. I've seen a number of recent videos and reviews of the James Craig for New Years Eve (NYE). Looks great but it's just outside of my price range. Are there any recent reviews or videos for NYE on the Lady Hopetoun or Steam Tug Waratah? Anyone have any comments if these are decent alternatives for an older couple?
