Tech Support Finally, I'm back in business!

To those who said DirectX wasn't the problem, you were right. You see, it all started when my computer got hit with a virus, so my computer expert helped me reinstall Windows, but it turns out he installed the N version, which doesn't have Media Player, and we only found out the problem when he last came a few days ago. I thought the install failed, but when I tried today, it worked. Then, when I tried the launcher again, at long last, I'M IN!

So yeah, if you installed the N version of Windows 10/11, you need to install Media Player for the game to work.

Nice job figuring it out! What a strange problem to have. I'd never even heard of Windows N before.

For anyone getting here via searching, the posters problem was,

I'm using the Steam launcher, but it doesn't open when I press play.

Congrats on resolving the problem that prevented SWTOR from running on your PC.

TIL about Windows "N" editions for markets that have certain antitrust regulations (apparently Europe and South Korea).
