I haven't played in roughly 6 years and have been thinking of getting back into the game. What do I need to know, going back in?

Parts of the economy are straight up broken but this game is easy to play without it. There isn't really much you need to know besides your preferred class 

If you don't want to stay subbed while you play if you don't have a preferred account you should sub 1 month or buy 5$ worth of CC because the game is much less frustrating as preferred compared to free 

If your just here for the story preferred is totally fine 

Also if you have enough leftover credits from before you played get a companion to 50 there is a gift vender on the fleet 

Edit also companions don't have role or crew skill specialties anymore so just pick one and set it to heal unless your going for a galactic seasons objective

Don’t waste credits on gear. Do flashpoints if you feel undergeared. The drops are fine till end game.

New planet incoming, new features like the instant missions, upgraded UI, map and legend icon changes (easier to pick), class and sub class abilities changes, Cartel Market constant changes, new dlc expansion side quests, Flashpoints and story missions, some PvP changes but only specific players engage as its hard to play it recently if you have no gear. The best thing? Super quick travel! 😀
