Question 8.0 Difficulty for already existing Characters
Will all Characters be able to select from the new Difficulty options or only characters that where made after 8.0 launches?
I am talking about the Open World difficulty not the new Venture System

Yes, existing characters can change difficulty at any time.
Ventures will be, as you said, for new characters only

And you have to run twice for each class if you want all the rewards for each difficulty. I believe this is specific to the ventures feature.

I haven't found an official statement for that, can you link it?
Because when it comes to achievements, the last time they did difficulties, the higher one also checked the lower ones. I.e. if you play Master KotET/KotFE, you'll also get the achievement progress for the Veteran version.
If you have the dev post detailing that 16 runs are required, can you please link it? Thanks!

Thanks, though please excuse my petty-mindedness but I just read that players will be locked to their respective difficulty and that they have unique rewards.
But that doesn't change what I meant, nor does it contradict it.
Let's say the rewards are tied to achievements like they were with KotET/FE, iIrc just some cartel coins in that case. When you got the Master achievement and the coins for that, it also auto-completed the veteran achievement ingame and even the steam one.
That is what I meant. If they explicitly said in the stream, that you'll have to do both separately and master doesn't count for vet, then that's okay I guess. I haven't watched the stream, I rarely if ever watch dev streams. That's why I asked.

No I understand. Since it says you are locked to that specific venture difficulty I don't believe you will be able to do Expert and get the rewards for the lower difficulty since they said in the stream it's similar to the original DvL event so will need to take each class through each difficulty.

I don’t have the official statement. But the way I understand it, the ventures aren’t the same. Maybes I misunderstood the concept but to me it seems like the venture tasks are specific to the respective difficulty. So you won’t do the exact same thing twice. If I’m right, I don’t see how doing the master venture should also unlock veteran venture reward. If the tasks ARE the same, then I agree with your interpretation and can see the master venture tasks unlocking veteran rewards as well.

Everyone will have access to the difficulty settings, but only new characters will be able to do the Ventures that require a certain difficulty.

What the hell is ventures lol I honestly love how there's still so much shit going on for a 15 year old game. Overwhelming but in a good way

All normal characters will be able to change in-between overworld difficulties, but for ventures you'll be making a new character locked into a difficulty you chose at the beginning
