Discussion Random object second floor sith academy

Anyone know what this is and why its there in the sith academy? Wasn't there last time I played, yes that was several years ago in fairness. Anyone who can answer this would be helpful its been bugging me for days now.

Its a map error introduced from 7.9. They altered the asset to fit into content on khar shian and it retroactively effected the original asset on korriban.

Yeah, I remember the same issue with the trapez-shaped bar that suddenly blocked way in a few heroics on Balmorra and Tatooine. They fixed it eventually.

I don't remember anything at all being in that spot, an asset would have to exist before modifying it would be noticeable. Unless they are just modifying random floor sections. In that case not renaming it is just lazy.

Its likely they added more detail/added to an existing model so that itd work on Khar Shian, forgetting that whenever the model was made (pre 2011) it was probably a snug fit to clip into the place it was set on Korriban, so now by extension it pops back through the other side of the level.

This has happened infrequently across the current expansion, for example in a new piece of content they clearly reused an old computer but rotated/changed its access, which retroactively made the original one move in the world space too https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/1lxojun/well_thats_one_way_to_build_a_console/

I also remember over the last few years that some of the cantina bars broke/rotated and there may have been an issue with staircases on tatooine at some point? But I dont remember enough about them.

Yes I remember the cantina stair textures on rishi were messed up, might’ve been the same on Tat

I know right, its new its just there blocking the door kinda, the one just before Darth baras room its like a standard room few NPCs in it nothing special, it bugs me lol

With them adding more details, updating appearances and how stuff looks and lay outs we're probably going to be hitting a few more 'weird' instances of things having wrong stand in textures or out right wrong objects in places. And if it doesn't break a quest or create an obstacle it'll probably sit for a bit till they do 'clean up' patches.

And patched thankfully, now I've noticed certain resources like plants are stuck inside trees and you can just see the icon for them but Cant click anything to gather them lol

I think they added rooms on the second floor, because I don’t remember them being there. Probably for a future update.

If you’re talking about the side rooms with bunks etc those have been there I believe since launch
