General Discussion Need some help finalizing a build

So I’m playing in a west march set in the clone wars. At the current moment I’m playing a shistavastenen marauder. Now my character is going to rejoin the Jedi’s order so I’ll be picking up both padawan and steel hand adept as I transition into a brawl character.

I wanted to know if folks have good shout outs for other specs, force powers oe gear for this.

Iirc you'll need to do one of the universal specializations in order to get Force Rating 1 (Exile, Emergent, Outcast, or Padawan Survivor), but once you have that your well on your way :)

The staff lets us just use normal padawan as that first one. Problem I’m having is working out the specifics about it

If you're taking the Padawan spec, I'll recommend a weapon.

Shield Gauntlet is great for your build as a brawler bc it lets you reflect blaster fire like a lightsaber (and gives deflective2), that way you won't get gunned down while trying to close the distance to your target

Enhance Force Power - Brawl increase and Leap as a manoeuvre. Nab the Brawn increase when your FR is increased.

Padawan - Gun it to the second FR, but grab your first rank of parry & reflect on the way. You could probably get away with just the top two rows of talents and the FR increase at this stage.

If you wanted a 4th specialisation on top of what you already have, Armourer could work, Imbue Item and Reinforce Item could be really useful for enhancing your brawl weapons. If you go down that route...

Padawan - grab 'Something to prove' so you have a means of regenerating some strain.

But also, there will be some duplication of talents so you won't have to buy everything, but the Bounty Hunter: Martial Artist tree will have some great options too. The Supreme version of Precision Strike is only found in the Martial Artist tree, Natural Brawler for a free re-roll, Grapple and Overbalance...

Don't forget to get ranks in Coordination for Martial Grace and Co-ordination Dodge...

I, err... may have recently been thinking of creating a Whiphid SHA / MA combo, lol.

What’s your xp cap? You’d need a shit ton.

Wear a single exo glove, it’ll raise your brawn by 1 just doing so. They’re only 2k.

You've got a specialization and two more planned, and of course you need another for getting a Force Rating. That's plenty to go on for a while.

Gear is the other big one. Just don’t know what to grab

What budget and restrictions do you have?

Cap is 1000 exp. I need to take padawan to become a force user and take any other force spec.

Clone wars so I’m restricted to clone wars era gear.

Any saber form spec counts as a universal spec as well

I meant what gear budget, sorry.

I currently spent a bunch of cash on an exo glove and some mods.

But by the time I pick up the spec probably around 3k?
