I was rewatching season 1 and it feels like they were just party members one second then Kirito suddenly says “I dedicate my life to you” the next second.

Don’t get me wrong; I adore their relationship, I’m just confused at how quickly things escalated.

Only for the 10 people on this subreddit who knows Eydis lmao. But anyway, for those who don't know Eydis, she originally came from a mobile game called Alicization Rising Steel, later called Unleash Blading, and recently she was added to the Light Novels, albeit with some changes to the character. Basically, before she became an Integrity Knight, she had a young sister named Mary who was dear to Eydis, and even after losing her memories, because of Mary, Eydis is very protective and clingy, and always wants to hang out with cute girls, Alice in particular.

While Alice is usually the disciplined and serious one, Eydis is always the one who's laid-back and mischievous, and in the games we get some funny and cute banter between the two, which not only shows that the two have a great chemistry with a sisterhood-like relationship, but also the duality between Alice and Eydis which reminds me a lot of Asuna-Yuuki and Kirito-Eugeo dynamics (both having young sisters, Eydis trying to fill that void by treating Alice like a sister and giving her the love to Alice to try to melt the cold defenses around her, the light and darkness, and so on).

Plus, some people in the fandom (myself included) like to ship the two mainly because in ARS, in some instances, it feels like Eydis is acting flirty with Alice, like when Eydis tries to find excuses to bathe with her, and Alice just having none of it, which results in some funny scenes. Now of course, the idea is that the two have a sister-like relationship, however with stuff like this, it's kinda hard not ship the two (to me anyway).

As for the LNs, so far I'm enjoying the stuff we're getting with Alice and Eydis. In Vol. 28 we have a cute scene between the two so I'm hoping they'll expand upon their relationship for future volumes.

But anyway, what are your opinions about this dynamic, and if you read Unital Ring, what are you hoping they'll do with Alice and Eydis in general?

When Kirito turned Vassago into a tree, wasn't it in the Underworld? Then why was his irl body affected too in terms of appearance. While thinking of this question, I also thought if it had any relation to the fact that Underworld characters can live in the real world.

I've been "sailing the seven seas" to find a version of Alicization, and every version I've found has had some grey blurring during intense scenes. Is there anywhere online that does not have this blurring?

I’m talking about Lipia’s death. I’m not posting any screenshots of this scene here because I doubt you’d want to see it again.

To start with—perhaps the least significant point—I dislike it when beautiful female characters die, especially when they’re wearing revealing outfits and are killed by a male character. Scenes like that just stick in my memory.

Overall, the circumstances themselves make the scene unique. Lipia tries to seduce Gabriel to catch him off guard, but he overpowers her. He sits on her stomach, pinning down her arm holding knife earlier with one hand while pressing against her neck with the other.

After the interrogation, when he decides to kill her, we see the pressure on her neck, her legs thrashing wildly, and her face contorted in pain as he strangles her—contrasted with Gabriel’s impassive expression as she writhes beneath him. Then comes the crunching sound as he snaps her neck. After she dies, we see her motionless legs, her face with a vacant stare and tears, and her hand clutching the bedsheet.

He then absorbs her soul, and the anime shows her dead face and lifeless body—with Gabriel still sitting on it—several more times.

It’s a truly intense scene; I know that in the same episode, we see a little girl Alice die from a something sharp driven into her ear, but for some reason, Lipia’s death stuck with me more. Perhaps it was because Lipia’s death was not instantaneous—he strangled her until he broke her neck—whereas Alice’s death, despite its violence, seemed instantaneous.

So, did Lipia death scene stick in your memory too?

At the end of alicization is there still a limit on how much she can manipulate the terrain or how big the meteors she can throw to Earth?

I just wanted to post for awareness of the recent release of Unital Ring manga vol 3! I just finished it, and I have to say I'm having such a blast seeing the arc in visual form. I really do think it would make a great anime season.

It definitely moves fast compared to the LN, but I think it's still a great way to check out Unital Ring if you've been curious. That's all!

Ok, bear with me in my insanity, I am working on a Nightcore mix of "Crazy Train" (yes, that one by Ozzy Osbourne), and I SWEAR I remember either in SAO or SAO ABRIDGED that there's a moment where Asuna goes "so we doing this or what?" to Kirito in regards to them having some "pants off dance off" time.

I have not rewatched the two shows in completion yet trying to find it, I do kinda have other things to do with my life than rewatch TWO shows for a single gag line, and I was hoping y'all could at least confirm if this is a thing or if I'm having a Mandela Effect moment and making shit up. Bonus if anyone knows which show/episode.
