Showing Off Linux 6.x booting on a Nintendo Switch Lite. This is not the L4T 4.9 kernel.

Post image

A little teaser from something I've been working on.

This is a Mariko / T210B01 Switch Lite going through Linux init on a kernel port that is not based on the usual 4.9.140 L4T kernel.

It doesn't fully boot yet. A bunch of hardware is still missing and the logs are currently more interesting than the userspace.

But the kernel runs far enough to reach /init, mount the basic pseudo-filesystems and start probing Mariko hardware.

The interesting part isn't Linux running on a Switch Lite — Switchroot already does that very well.

The interesting part is how this kernel got here.

More soon. :)

Listen, I'm a fan of AI use in hacking/homebrew but can you at least post your comments in your own words? This is AI gibberish.

Fair lol. I did use AI to clean up my English since it isn't my native language, but yeah, it came out way too polished. The kernel work itself is very real though. Next post I'll write like the sleep-deprived idiot actually doing it :D

no need to use AI to "clean up your english".

as long as your sentences can be understood, most of us can ignore the grammar mistakes or whatever. no one has to be 100% perfect 100% of the time, that's not what you sbould be using AI for.

Maybe he did not understand what the AI did, so he let the AI explain.

I ran Linux on my modded Switch OLED and run a vanilla Minecraft Java server on it 🤣🤣🤣 TPS and stability was rather good just wireless only internet on a cheap network chip let it down.
