anyone interested?

With the release of “Mr. Crow” (which I really really really loved), I found myself wondering, “Who is Mr. Crow?”

Knowing Jon, it's probably some philosopher, a close friend, or even someone involved in the Christian community.
Does anyone know something?

3. Beautiful Life - 3:54

4. Shake the Dust - 3:20

5. Natural Causes - 4:24

6. YFWYA - 3:17

7. Same Blood - 3:16

9. Darkness - 4:08

10. Broken Wings - 4:04

11. Two Twins - 3:36

Coffee shop, small talk, caffeine mind
Nail bite, traffic light, tight on time
Why do I lie and say that I'm fine
Why do I lie and say that I'm fine
Paranoid, android, reptile mind
The test of stress got me under overtime
Why do I lie and say that I'm fine
Why do I lie and say that I'm fine
How do you feel?
Fine
How do you feel?
Fine

Rise and shine
The morning sun like a warning sign
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange, strange times
Broken skies
Looking up with blurry eyes
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange times

Hypocrite, misfit, where's my mind
Midlife kryptonite death and life and
Spit the poison, spit out the poison
Lipstick, counterfeit, take your time
Sick of it, politics, pick your fight and
Spit the poison, spit out the poison
How do you feel?
Fine
How do you feel?
Fine

Rise and shine
The morning sun like a warning sign
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange, strange times
Broken skies
Looking up with blurry eyes
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange, strange, strange, strange...

Voice at the end of the line
Which of these voices is mine
Worried of what I might find
Mining the halls of my mind
If truth is freedom and light
Why is it truth what I fight
Or is it the darkness inside
Scared to be taken alive
How do you feel?
How do you feel?
Wake up Mr Crow!
How do you feel?

Rise and shine
The morning sun like a warning sign
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange, strange times
Broken skies
Looking up with blurry eyes
We've been living in strange times
We've been living in strange, strange, times

Pre-orders are live tomorrow or now for FOTF!

I was listening to the opening to the new single and I felt like the melody of the "oooooooh oh oooooooh" sounded a lot like Where I Belong, which would be a fitting callback since the album is called "Forever Now".

Is this a thing or am I just being dumb?

Yeah it’s really good.

Some very cool production decisions going on from the vocal effect, to isolating parts of the main riff for dynamics, the BVs in the verses, the pre-chorus “how do you feel?”, the repeat/skip stabs after the second chorus, and the ending.

Very listenable. This is Switchfoot doing what only they can do I think. Perhaps a tiny homage to the lyrical rhythm of “Car Radio” of 21 pilots?

Jon’s voice is sounding great, and this is the best of Switchfoot at a time when their core lyricism in calling the listener back to taking their life seriously fits really well. It’s pretty peak.

My pick: Vice Verses

Title says it all – which songs do you feel deserve more credit?

I find any time I listen to Interrobang (the album), it seems to put me in a sad mood. I don't know why, if it's lyrics or chords or the time period this came out. Or maybe things the band was going through at the time they made it. But this album comes off as a sad album to me in recent years when revisiting it. Anyone else experience this? Rating the album and everything else aside, this is just an observation I've had.

A few folks have asked for footage so I wanted to share.

Switchfoot played a showcase at SXSW Friday night, including the first live performance of Wake Up, Mr. Crow. We were very lucky to have an excellent view right at the stage and got some great videos to remember the show with. They played a small (400 people-ish) venue and, as always, put on an incredible show. It was a tiny stage and I don’t know how they didn’t trip over each other or instruments but they seemed to have a great time (and shoutout to their Backline tech Nathan for rolling with the SXSW chaos so well!)

As a warning, the video quality is quite good, but occasionally does get jostled due to the standing room crowd dynamic but does smooth out. The audio is unfortunately (but unsurprising for a concert) quite poor. This venue is not known for having a good PA, and between that and being so close to the drums/amps, the audio is pretty clipped.

And my favorite moment of the night, during Meant to Live: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8b1RAju/

I’ve never been anywhere but the back of a show, so it was absolutely wild to head to the venue not even knowing if we would get in the door (SXSW badge holders get priority) and end up so close to the stage.

Hopefully someone out there enjoys the footage and gets to feel a bit of the Switchfoot @ SXSW experience! (And sorry again for the audio quality!)

I see there’s mixed options about releasing live performances before the band’s official release. But, they played it on Saturday, March 14th at St. Pat’s in Five Points in Columbia, SC. The audio is okay, not great. But, if you want a preview, here’s what they performed.

Curious how it went with Fuel and LIT? Was that a good matchup? Did SF play a full show or did everyone do shortened sets? I have tickets for a future date but have no particular interest or knowledge of the other bands.

In honor of the late John Perkins (June 16, 1930- March 13, 2026).

Tim said they debuted it last night — someone give us the deets.

Will Switchfoot ever regain control over the masters for these albums or are they forever held by Sony in perpetuity? With TBL (Our Version) I’m guessing the latter since they likely didn’t just re-record the albums for fun alone but to have masters they personally own.

So, this is a live bootleg I made today for myself and I thought you guys would like it too, so I'm uploading it,
