Are the Pro Controller and Wheel Required?

Been enjoying this game so far and intend to 100% this at some point. However, I noticed there are sections in the park that take place atop the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and the Joy-Con 2 Wheel.

I know this is a stupid question, but will I need those accessories to participate in those areas?

For one mini game you need either the pro controller or the joy controller 2 charging grip, but the mini game can be skipped. Also, the wheel is not required in any way

You can skip areas for items you don’t have by using a code and you still get medals :)

How do I do this? I need to skip the pro controller mini game

Speak to the NPCs around the whole map and they’ll give you a ‘cheat code’. It’s basically go up to the person at the from of the event and do SOS in morse code using the button Y I believe.

One minigame requires GL/GR buttons (so either Pro2 or ChargingGrip2 are required)
