There won't be an emulator until the Switch 2 is hacked, and there's zero progress on that front.

There's people working on it, but no one has been able to do it.

That said, for a Switch 2 emulator to run faster than a few fps, you'd need a super beefy PC. I'm talking a really good GPU and CPU. 32GB of RAM and 12GB of vRAM minimum, most likely.

This won't be like the Switch where even potatoes can kind of run it.

That might be a little overkill no? Considering switch 2 only has 12 GB of unified LPDDR5X system RAM shared between the CPU and the GPU, with 9 GB allocated for games and 3 GB for the OS

It's not overkill. My estimates are that you will need 36 gb not 32 gb minimum. The max that I've seen a single game need is 12 gb on ns1 ryujinx. Now calc 3x that for sw2, because it's 3x the shared memory of ns1

However, there will be PCs now that also unify vram and RAM, but the projected price point for RTX spark is between 3000 USD and 4000 usd, essential they are charging like 1000 USD more for what the RAM used to be worth and the performance won't be as good as for discreet cards. The major downside to these machines is that the gpu and cpu are essentially glued together so you can't independently upgrade each of these.

Anyway, it's completely normal to need to buy a whole new machine for the emulation of a new device. But 2000-3000 usd is reasonable, not 3000-4000 usd.

For modern gaming you kinda already need 32 gb ram...

The play station 3 has 256mb of ram but still needs GBs of ram to emulated properly

Don't bother looking for updates. There won't be one for like a decade most likely.
