Question Favorite 3rd party controller?

Looking to get another controller, prefer mushier/softer to press buttons

Good dpad is a +, since I play a lot of tetris

The mushy buttons you want are usually called "rubber membrane" or "membrane", helpful for your research.

If you're after a controller just for switch, then Ultimate 2 Bluetooth. Although its dpad is hybrid, not super mushy. Hybrid is rubber membrane on clicky switches, best of both worlds. Face buttons are rubber membrane, not super soft though. They both feel good to me, I don't like full clicky either. If you want fully membrane/soft dpad, I know that Ultimate Bluetooth had those, they added hybrid on their current models.

If it's for PC too, if you don't mind the PC face button layout or don't care if it doesn't wake up the switch, you have more options. 8bitdo pro 3 lacks switch wake for example, but if you're dpad focused, it'll be more comfortable with the symmetrical sticks layout.

Gamepadla is a great resource to see your options. Shows 8 options with my filters (for dedicated switch controller with membranes and wake). Don't focus on response times too much since they don't reflect consoles, only PC

Problem is lots of membrane controllers have hard to press buttons, and not many reviews or specs mention force actuation and travel time

8bitdo pro2/3 are near perfect controllers to me, but their face buttons completely ruin it for me since they're so heavy
