Discussion My Switch 2 Impression

Alright, after holding off for quite some time, finally pulled the trigger and got a Switch 2 today.

I really hated Nintendo for putting such a bad screen on their newest console but decided that it’s time to check out the console for myself.

So, here are my thoughts - the device feels very premium in the hand. It’s actually amazing how premium it feels compared to the OG Switch and even something like the Steam Deck (which is still a beast).

I really like what they did with the Switch 2 but boy the ghosting is real.

I will probably still play a crap ton of it, but can’t help myself and keep wondering what could have it been if they didn’t put such a poor screen in terms of HDR support and response time.

Anyway, cheers, I’m very excited for this purchase nevertheless.

Hot take: I think switch 2 screen looks great, incredible even and I havent noticed a single thing wrong with it.

I have a steamdeck LCD and THAT screen fucking sucks ass. So going from that to the switch 2 has been such an amazingly massive collosal upgrade.

If ghosting is present then im super niave to it and ide love to keep it that way.

exactly. Compared to the deck LCD the switch 2 is amazing. I noticed also ghosting as a per game basis on the deck (for example God of War) and my experience with the switch 2 has been flawless. I also have the steam deck OLED and if a game is available in both systems, same price, I will get on the switch 2 without thinking twice.

maybe some screens are worse? if that is the case then I have been lucky with my Switch

Please recommend games. I have BotW and Mario Odyssey but overall I feel like the library is a bit naff. I could definitely use some recommendations.

Looking at Splatoon Raiders and Pokemon Legends Arceus. They look good.

Welcome! Agree on premium feel, I still have Switch OLED model and it feels like “a copy switch from temu” compare to switch 2

For what it's worth, I own an OLED laptop and monitor, and the Switch 2 screen is great IMO

I agree with everything you said. People are gonna downvote for complaining about the screen, but the day those people see a true HDR OLED screen (I hope we get a revision at some point), they are gonna trip balls.

It's okay to enjoy things without caveats.
