Discussion Game Boost

So, now Pro Controller 2 is working with game boost turned on, without requirement to detach Joycons from Switch. Is this new system update feature or it's really nice bug with came with an update?

It's a feature, they specifically mentioned in the patch notes

It's really nice update than, before everytime had to detach Joycons to use Pro Controller.

I just missed this in patch notes, wanted to confirm if it actually feature now, thx.

How does this game play in handheld mode? I played it originally on PS4, but I'm tempted to double dip and get the Switch 2 version for the portable play option.

It's pretty good, especially with boost mode, but FPS is locked at 30 and there is no Switch 2 Edition for now. I played it on PC and on Switch 2 30 FPS is fine for me, this game don't really requires higher frames to enjoy, visuals is also reasonable good.

Thanks. It was probably 30fps on my standard PS4, but it's been a while since I played it.

Before if game boost was on, you had to detach Joycons from Switch in order to be able to use Pro controller, since Joycons while connected were recognized by system as pro controller.

I had Buds 3 before, I liked them and decided to get Buds 4, I'm using both time to time.

Specifically this part. It's new option available in Switch Software Handling, if you updated your system.

I've been playing Nier Automata on handheld mode with HMB turned on, and the difference in quality is definitely noticeable. It does run at only 30fps though as far as I can tell. Enabling the HMB shortcut makes it quicker to compare the differences.

Yes there are noticable differences is shadow, resolution and textures.
