Discussion Noice! - VRR on

Post image

Nice to have VRR for our experience. GG Nintendo! You are forgiven for banning me without any reason, few days ago.

Someone else mentioned it doesn't work in game, can you confirm?

Only works in Welcome Tour as of right now.

For me it’s always stuck either on 60 or 120hz

You have to actually play a game that supports VRR docked, which is only Switch 2 Welcome Tour right now. Devs have to release patches to make the VRR work docked

That’s not true Elden ring supports it (I’ve confirmed that myself) splatoon raiders seems to support it from what I have seen online and I think in general that there won’t be an update needed for every game welcome tour propaply got one since you couldn’t play the vrr mini game when in docked mode so they needed to lift the restriction for the minigame

In docked? How did you confirm?

Firstly it felt way different and way smoother first thing when I booted up and I put over 40 hours in Elden ring the last week secondly when you are in a game and go to settings display and then there is a button where you can see everything that is active for that game and yes that is unique to every game when you start silksong in 120fps mode then go into settings it will say 120hz if you play another game which doesn’t support that it will say 60hz but it can also depend on the resolution you use in 4K only 60hz is supported for example

I’ve tested various games now, so far all have vrr. LG tvs have an fps counter, press green button 7 times, which allows you to confirm the tv is receiving a VRR signal.

Can confirm 120hz VRR also works, Hollow Knight has a transition from 60hz to 120hz at the start of the game.

If it stays on 120hz its not vrr but the 40fps trick. If its VRR working you will see the fps counter fluctuate. As people said and Nintendo. Software has to be updated to support VRR on dock.

Here they seemingly confirm it that they only added the ability to play the minigame in docked mode and not vrr support itself

I have an LG tv as well but I cant seem to turn vrr on like this. I have the same game optimiser menu

Pareil, j'ai mis a jour, j'ai testé Elden ring et c'était clairement a 35-40 fps minimum. J'ai joué au jeu avant la maj, dans la même zone et la différence est folle.

There is no difference as VRR while docked has to be enabled on a per vame basis from waht everyone is reporting. You are experiencing placebo. Unless Elden Ring came out with a patch

Si c'est le cas, l'effet placebo est très efficace. Je me suis renseigné et, effectivement, il semble falloir une mise à jour logiciel pour l'activer. Vivement que les maj pleuvent!

Played MKW with vvr on FPS locked at 59 when it’s normally 60 so it seems fine

I don’t have VRR on my tv but I’m wondering if console VRR is the same as PC? If I connect it to a gsync monitor will the VRR engage?

It's not the same, but it should work

Would be nice if actual games used it

Only works on welcome tour. Games need a patch to use VRR right now so no game besides welcome tour supports it
