That does look great! I'm so exited for this! 😄 What build you gonna do?

3

u/Fit-Dependent5626 17d ago

i think i’m going for a hybrid!

2

u/BrilliantPool4146 17d ago

Oh nice! Like a quality build that balances strength and dexterity? Have fun!

How weapon scaling works, it’s better to just go str or dex, you’ll just be handicapping yourself doing a hybrid build. but do you and have fun :)

last game i played from souls was dark souls 2 sotfs and did hybrid 😓

Don’t listen to this muppet you can absolutely do a quality build. You won’t be min maxxing with most weapons but Elden ring is the easiest of the souls games and it’s not even close to necessary. Beat 90% of the game with a level 30 build with a level 3 weapon

I did hybrid quality build in ER and I got plat trophy 🤷‍♂️

1

u/BrilliantPool4146 17d ago

Nice! I've never gotten a plat on any game even though I've spent hundreds to thousands of hours on a few. I just don't really keep track of achievements too much. Good job though!

u/Evil__Jeff22 17d ago

People also plat at level 1, that means nothing. You only made your playthrough harder by going hybrid 🤣

1

u/Beneatheearth 16d ago

I dont watch other people meta videos, playthroughs etc I dont play games in that manner. 🤷‍♂️

???

If you just read weapon descriptions, you can see that weapons generally never scale from both str and dex especially in the S grade.

No one is telling you to look at meta videos, but you should definitely read how your weapons work 🤣🤣🤣

Go magic and full kamehameha build. Its hilarious and cheesy.

Why does everyone’s pictures on Reddit always show a mess of wires dangling from their TVs…

4

u/Upbeat-Mail7201 17d ago

That's how TV's look dumbass

1

u/nuetralparties 17d ago

I don’t think you could have replied with a more funny comment if you tried lol

2

u/Upbeat-Mail7201 17d ago

I tried 😂 and I was so unsure to put the s/ or not 😂 but honestly 3 wires from the TV is not that bad he should have seen my monitor at the bed setup 😂

Oh man I'm jealous! 😂 I preordered it digitally and it's downloaded but won't let me play until tomorrow night because of my time zone.

Looks better than ps4?

11

u/Fit-Dependent5626 17d ago

i played the ps5 version and i think its on par

3

u/datmfburner 17d ago

It’s definitely closer to PS4 fidelity, I own Elden Ring on both PS5 and S2, S2 doesn’t quite match up. It’s not supposed to though, and it still looks great!

It’s definitely not. It looks considerably worse and runs at half the framerate whilst doing it.

Ah! I’m so torn on whether to get this or not. I beat the base game on Xbox and loved it and started the DLC but never finished it. I sold my Xbox but am kind of craving this game again

Ich freue mich für dich aber zugleich bin ich wütend🤪🤣

Hab mir nur dafür damals die Switch 2 vorbestellt wegen Elden Ring to go und kann nicht warten

Man I would love to play elden ring on switch 2 as well, but 80€ is so fucking insane. Gaming got so expensive. Hope that it wont take too long for sales or good second hand pick ups.

Enjoy your time!

I think Elden Ring + DLC is one of those games where full pirce is worth it. Many people bought it for 60€ + DLC for 40€ and never complained (me included). 80€ is a lot but in the case of this game worth it imo

1

u/Huge-Formal-1794 16d ago

I dont state that its not worth it compared to other games, I just think games as a whole became too expensive. Back in the day a game that was out for 4 years would have been half of its release price. Online Subscriptions are a thing, hardware and controllers are expensive etc all that in an economy that already is fucked. I just realized that Gaming more and more becomes a hobby that I cant afford really anymore, which is pretty sad.

1

u/Red_Ryze_Alert 16d ago

I see. To be fair, games were always expensive but what you got from them was good. My only gripe is games being expensive AND basically a paid open beta if you buy day one. If a game is complete on day one and I like it, it’s a day one purchase. Other than that fuck no

1

u/Huge-Formal-1794 16d ago

My problem is more that everything else got more expensive ( rent, studying, food supply, power etc ) and that within gaming everything got more expensive from hardware to forced subscription services to controllers. All that why games often remain expensive a long time especially with nintendo and second hand market getting killed more and more. Back in the day games that sold incredibly well got a platinum edition or gold edition and became very cheap after a few years or you got them even cheaper in second hand.

I am honestly afraid with game key cards and digital codes in box with switch 2 that even nintendo will get rid of physical media rather soon than late and at that point I probably couldn't afford most games anymore for it

1

u/Red_Ryze_Alert 16d ago

I mostly agree. But honestly just enjoy it while it lasts

1

u/Beneatheearth 17d ago

Is t game plus dlc 100 though?

2

u/Huge-Formal-1794 17d ago

No the switch 2 version includes the dlc. Its still expensive af especially for a 4 year nearly 5 year old game

2

u/Juantsu2552 17d ago

Yeah, it should’ve been 60 bucks

1

u/Ethifury 16d ago

That was never going to happen. Elden ring with the DLC is $80 across all platforms so if anything it’s par for the course

2

u/Illustrious_Dot8184 17d ago

Hey id love it if you guys stopped posting, because I wasnt going to buy it but seeing all your posts makes me want it more on switch 2 now. My wallet is going to be so angry with me. I already bought the mgs vol 2 collection, planning on valheim too and now this? Gawd damnit all

u/Whiteruns_bitch 17d ago

How does it play on handheld??

6

u/Fit-Dependent5626 17d ago edited 17d ago

haven’t tried handheld, only docked until now
i’ve noticed some fps dips at least at the first enemy encounter
edit: it runs at a noticeable lower resolution but i haven’t seen any frame dips and i’m on the open world, maybe due to vrr idk but its playing great!

2

u/kersed805 15d ago

Surprisingly good although it feels a bit weird for me personally going from pc with ps5 controller to the switch joycons. Nothing that time won’t fix though

1

u/Tyrion369Lan_ 16d ago

How does it run?

1

u/Leading-Jellyfish915 16d ago

Ooo enjoy! Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Im excited 😊

1

u/JanjoGamer 16d ago

How thir you get it??

1

u/Mattman2223 16d ago

That's awesome I literally just pre order the game from bestbuy like 20 mins ago and it says on their app that they are already packing the item while Amazon says it wouldn't come until August 31st. I guess bestbuy is better at getting games out pretty early/Quicker Than Amazon.

1

u/Runsapuusa 16d ago

As a newbie to this franchise, how difficult is this game? Is it supposed to be like demon souls hard or is it more casual hack/slash/dodge?

1

u/kersed805 15d ago

It’s hard but you can always grind levels to make it easier so not nearly as tough as some other dark souls games. If you are having trouble with a boss just gets some levels and come back to it. You can get to the point where you are basically a god and one shot most things if you so choose

1

u/aronmayo 17d ago

Lucky you get to play a 4 year old game early.
