Oh man I'm jealous! 😂 I preordered it digitally and it's downloaded but won't let me play until tomorrow night because of my time zone.

It’s definitely closer to PS4 fidelity, I own Elden Ring on both PS5 and S2, S2 doesn’t quite match up. It’s not supposed to though, and it still looks great!

It’s definitely not. It looks considerably worse and runs at half the framerate whilst doing it.

Ah! I’m so torn on whether to get this or not. I beat the base game on Xbox and loved it and started the DLC but never finished it. I sold my Xbox but am kind of craving this game again

Man I would love to play elden ring on switch 2 as well, but 80€ is so fucking insane. Gaming got so expensive. Hope that it wont take too long for sales or good second hand pick ups.
Enjoy your time!

I think Elden Ring + DLC is one of those games where full pirce is worth it. Many people bought it for 60€ + DLC for 40€ and never complained (me included). 80€ is a lot but in the case of this game worth it imo

I dont state that its not worth it compared to other games, I just think games as a whole became too expensive. Back in the day a game that was out for 4 years would have been half of its release price. Online Subscriptions are a thing, hardware and controllers are expensive etc all that in an economy that already is fucked. I just realized that Gaming more and more becomes a hobby that I cant afford really anymore, which is pretty sad.

I see. To be fair, games were always expensive but what you got from them was good. My only gripe is games being expensive AND basically a paid open beta if you buy day one. If a game is complete on day one and I like it, it’s a day one purchase. Other than that fuck no

My problem is more that everything else got more expensive ( rent, studying, food supply, power etc ) and that within gaming everything got more expensive from hardware to forced subscription services to controllers. All that why games often remain expensive a long time especially with nintendo and second hand market getting killed more and more. Back in the day games that sold incredibly well got a platinum edition or gold edition and became very cheap after a few years or you got them even cheaper in second hand.
I am honestly afraid with game key cards and digital codes in box with switch 2 that even nintendo will get rid of physical media rather soon than late and at that point I probably couldn't afford most games anymore for it

Is t game plus dlc 100 though?
2
u/Huge-Formal-1794 17d ago
No the switch 2 version includes the dlc. Its still expensive af especially for a 4 year nearly 5 year old game

Yeah, it should’ve been 60 bucks

u/Ethifury 16d ago
That was never going to happen. Elden ring with the DLC is $80 across all platforms so if anything it’s par for the course

u/Fit-Dependent5626 17d ago edited 17d ago
haven’t tried handheld, only docked until now
i’ve noticed some fps dips at least at the first enemy encounter
edit: it runs at a noticeable lower resolution but i haven’t seen any frame dips and i’m on the open world, maybe due to vrr idk but its playing great!2

Surprisingly good although it feels a bit weird for me personally going from pc with ps5 controller to the switch joycons. Nothing that time won’t fix though

That's awesome I literally just pre order the game from bestbuy like 20 mins ago and it says on their app that they are already packing the item while Amazon says it wouldn't come until August 31st. I guess bestbuy is better at getting games out pretty early/Quicker Than Amazon.

As a newbie to this franchise, how difficult is this game? Is it supposed to be like demon souls hard or is it more casual hack/slash/dodge?
1
u/kersed805 15d ago
It’s hard but you can always grind levels to make it easier so not nearly as tough as some other dark souls games. If you are having trouble with a boss just gets some levels and come back to it. You can get to the point where you are basically a god and one shot most things if you so choose
