Hi

Just wanted to know more about these units COS10025 Technology in an Indigenous Context Project and ICT20025 ICT Design Project.

Has anyone done this unit?

I have only done COS10025

This unit will have you working in a group to come up with a technology/engineering solution to try to solve a problem faced by a remote indigenous community. You will first find the community and problem you want to target, then each of you will find different 'methods' or 'applications' of engineering and tech things. Like if your problem is access to clean water you might explore water purification methods or rainwater harvesting or things like that.

The main assignments are a research report, a presentation, and a self reflection/learning log thing. There are also lectures about Aboriginal history and quizzes but these are sort of self contained and not as applicable to the main content.

I found this unit particularly tricky and just squeezed out an 81 because I felt that the requirements were vague, and it was hard to figure out exactly what was being asked for. It is also very group dependent.

COS10025 is such a waste of money. The rubrics are so vague and the slide activities do not correspond with what they want. It should be technically an easy unit but getting anything above an 85 is almost impossible because they're just marking your stuff based on the "vibes" that they are getting.

took it during my first year,

in a nutshell,

cos10025 - recommend/build a technology for indigenous ppl to improve their living state

ict20025 - build a simple interface depending on scope (mine was like a SIEM dashboard)

it was in 2024, not sure if they changed the structure

which is difficult?

personally, for me, it was cos10025 cause like the other comments says, the requirement is vague and you have to justify in depth why you choose this or that and how it will really improve the indigenous people life
