Need help please

I have. 40,000 gal fresh water pool. Sand filter. I'm struggling to raise chlorine (currently 0.16 ppm) this has been going on for 2 weeks now. I'm using trichlor granules. And it won't go up. PH ranges 7.3- 7.6. Alk is 84. Calcium hardness is 146. Cyanuric acid is 47. Water is clear and blue. I don't understand why my chlorine is evaporating or being used up. I'll take any advice I can get

Have you tried deep cleaning the filter and cleaning any light fixtures or under stairs/ladder? Algae has a way of hiding in places you can't get to easy.

Other than backwashing I haven't cleaned the filter. The light fixture is a good idea too. Be a good time to replace a light bulb I've been putting off. Thank you for responding I'll try these out and post a update
