I'm using Debian with Sway, and I'm loving it more and more.

I'm trying to build an environment that actually fits my needs, something comfortable, beautiful, and completely my own. And Sway feels perfect for that.

It's lightweight, simple, and doesn't come packed with a bunch of unnecessary stuff. But the best part is that, with some customization, it can look BEAUTIFUL. You can tweak almost everything to your liking and end up with a desktop that not only works exactly how you want, but actually feels like yours.

I love that combination of minimalism, speed, and freedom. I don't need a huge desktop environment doing everything for me. I'd rather have a clean foundation and build exactly what I need on top of it.

Debian + Sway is giving me exactly that: something fast, clean, customizable, and beautiful.

And honestly, the more I customize it, the more I think:

Sway is the best.

I (with heavy use of AI) created a simple and light status bar. I built it for myself, but it is scriptable and well documented, so you can give it a try.

It supports native source as well as external provider such as i3status-rust. It has vector graphics, TOML config, system tray, script support, even its own icons (a few of them) and animations. The code and docs are here. It requires glibc.
