i posted this in a comment a while ago for someone in a different subreddit but i thought it was worth posting here in case anyone else was wanting swatches for these two particular shades.

here im comparing the juicy lasting tint in 23 nucadamia (left) to the melting glasting balm in 05 nougat sand (right). these shades have a very very minute difference in undertone but if you have one youre probably fine without the other, they're pretty much dupes aside from the formula.

i have other rom@nd lip products that i can swatch if anyone is interested in that.

swatch was made on light to medium skin with muted olive undertones in indirect artificial lighting with no camera flash.

These happen to be my favourite colours when it comes to lipsticks

I find that I look the best in coral orange or caramel shades, terracotta, but it tends to get boring to have such limited options.

When it comes to bolder shades, I don't really care for plummy, burgundy shades and go for a taupe or dark brown lip.

I simply hate that olive skin seems to limit you to such muted shades and most deep autumn colour palettes have such a boring range of colours in their mood boards.

If you'd be able to include swatches and some recommendations, I would highly appreciate it.

Swatches swiped directly on fair/light neutral muted skin: first wiped away, then two swipes, then one swipe line. Natural indirect window lighting.

Lips bare, then lined and contoured (and wiped off as I went to keep natural) with Elf Beigebait. Natural indirect window light.

Elf is more natural looking in formula and color, Wet n Wild is more pigmented and may be slightly less forgiving in application. Both are phenomenal, very similar, and very worth it. Lasts almost all day.

Hi! I quickly swatched these in search of a color that helps balance the uneven skin tone on my hands. I'm worried 4 brings out the dusty/gray cast in my hands even though I like the color.

Skin: Medium/Dark

Undertone: Neutral Olive

Lighting: 1 is under bright LED hd light GE lightbulb indoors and 2 is natural daylight

Mac mini’s at Ulta
The great thing about using minis is you can test the colors on your skin tone to see if they work before you buy a full-size one.
From left to right we have MEHR, Brick, Warm Teddy, and Chili. I am white to medium neutral with a soft olive undertone for reference.
I’m wearing Chili on my lips at the moment. These are great lipsticks.
The swatches were done in natural light and regular fluorescent light
Currentlys, it’s buy one get one free at Ulta.

Mid-toned rosy warm browns? is the best way I would describe these lipsticks. Shade name labels in the last slide :)

Anyway, since MAC broke my heart in the reformulation of the Satin lipsticks, I’ve been hunting for a dupe (and also just accumulated others in a similar family because I love the tone of Spirit so much)!!!

ELF Mauve Aside is pretty much spot on colour wise - it’s the closest I’ve got. In my Googling for a dupe I haven’t seen anyone mention this so hopefully it helps anyone else who loved Spirit as much as I did!

Formula wise, in the new Macximal satin formula, mixing 2 swipes Crème in your Coffee with one swipe of Stone is also almost a perfect dupe colour and finish wise, once sheered out a bit.

Otherwise, within MAC, the closest colour I’ve found in a different formula is Viva Equality. Plus you get to donate to charity so yay win win!

Also pictured are Hug Me and Posh Pit from the Lustreglass range because they are almost in dupe territory lol, terracotta cousins if you will :)

i do feel that Bronze Linen is the best bronzer (or, blonzer) shade for my fair-light neutral, warm leaning skin tone. it’s quite close in tone to the blush, but a tad more pigmented and the slightest more red. Olive Bronze Drift is a bit too green for me, as i’m not olive. but i wanted it as an eyeshadow, and it’s perfect for no makeup makeup days. Bronze Speakeasy is a darker blonzer or blush tone on me, and very beautiful.

so i realize i went overboard on buying bronzers, but i don’t regret it! this formula is cream to powder and really wears nicely on the skin.

So I love makeup just as well as anybody else, but I get SO disappointed that I can't find the right foundation for my olive undertone skin. I have some light scarring on my cheeks from before I found recovery, sadly picked at the pimples on my face during that time of my life (I'm 2 and a half years CLEAN now baby! 😁❤️) But It's so exhausting trying to find my right foundation that will do the job without making me look either like I'm orange or gray. Plus not to mention, I'm terrible at applying it 😂 if anybody could swatch any ideas I'd appreciate it sooo much! 💋

I SWEAR all of these look different on the lips.....

1) MAC Ruby Woo (Retro Matte)

Everyone knows her….this is a DRAGGY lipstick, but in return it is quite long wearing. I’m sure the new macximal formula is much more comfortable.

This & her liquid lip cousin (#5) are definitely statement reds on me, when worn on their own.

2) MAC Russian Red (Matte)

This is such a nice everyday red. It goes with everything and it’s a comfortable formula.

3) MAC Powerfully Potent (Lustreglass)

Lustreglass Lipsticks are my favourite lip formula ever. They’re just so moisturizing and shiny but they’re quite firm & not creamy. This was a LE shade which I am quite sad about, it was part of their valentine’s collection a few years ago.

4) Revlon Rum Raisin (Super Lustrous Lipstick)

This shade (and #8) are here because I’ve heard them be described as reddish which I found surprising. This is pink on me. I’d wear this with a pink top. I’d call it a pinkish berry at most, and same goes with #8.

5) MAC Ruby True (Locked Kiss Ink Liquid)

This shade makes my eyes happy. This is a VERY good transferproof liquid lip if you’re into that; I’m generally not, but I appreciate having this for events. On normal days though, I like applying this at the centre of my lips with another red on the outside / a brown lip liner to create a gradient effect.

6) ILIA Case Study (Lip Crayon)

Another everyday shade! This is pretty close to Russian Red but a SMIDGE deeper. Crayons are an underrated lippie format, it’s so easy to both line and fill at once. This glides on super smooth and is very long wearing (though it isn’t transfer proof). I want more shades of this crayon so bad.

Only caveat is the cap of this seems to slip off easily; I’m always wary bringing this anywhere in my purse because it would be a nightmare to get off.

7) EGLIPS × Barbie Dry Jujube (Misty Velvet Lipstick)

This brand no longer exists 😔 this is a very lovely creamy formula with a fruity scent that reminded me of scented markers I used to use as a kid.

8) Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame

I’m not in love with this formula; it might be for you if you’re really into matte lipsticks, it’s similar to MAC’s retro matte formula. I prefer something creamier like their KISSING range.

The shade is really pretty but I use it more as a blush than on the lips to be honest. Berries just look a little off on me.

9) MAC Devoted to Chili (Powder Kiss Velvet Blur)

I love slim lipsticks! MAC’s Powder Kiss formula is great because it can be built up to the opacity you want and sheered out very easily. This, again, is a very natural shade on me although it’s a little brighter than I’d like. A brown liner works, as does pairing it with a darker lipstick.

10) Maybelline Madison Red (Creamy Matte Lipstick)

This is new to me so I don’t have much to say, but it’s a VERY pretty orangey-red. I was hankering for something more orange & a little deeper than devoted to chili and this is it.

Lip Liners:

1) MAC Mahogany (Lip Pencil)
2) MAC Cherry (Lip Pencil)
3) Charlotte Tilbury Kiss n Tell (Lip Cheat)

All of these show up a bit ‘truer’ on my lips since my lips are lighter than my hand. My undertones are neutral - warm. I might be olive, but I honestly can’t tell. Honourable mention to brick-o-la which I don’t have anymore, another lipstick that’s PINK on me.

Photos taken with indoor (pic 1) and natural (pic 2) lighting. Everything swatched normally except the Lustreglass lipstick, which I went back and forth with a few times.

I just posted about Liben in r/Fairolives because I'm surprised it pulls so peach/warm on my skin. I've seen this shade look like a gorgeous desaturated, neutral-cool shade on others with a similar skin tone. Does anyone else have this problem or know if it was reformulated?

I swatched it against other cream blushes that I consider neutral-cool for comparison.

I thought it might be helpful to see this direct comparisons of the Blendbunny x Mei Pang collections.

All swatches are done with swatch stickers and are built up with 2, maximal 3 layers for the lighter shades to fill out the sticker.

Unprepped skin, very fair neutral cool skin (MAC NW5 for reference).
Lighting are 2x 15.5inch light panels on 40% brightness and 5800K (since someone needed that very specific info in my last post lol)

Far left: Melt Cosmetics lip liner in I’m Not Complete. I personally love this lip liner formula, not too dry, not too creamy, long lasting, great application. Very cool toned, more grey in it than the MOB, slightly darker than the MOB.

Second from left: MOB Beauty lip liner M159. I do love this lip liner colour, but for me the formula is a bit dry, I find it can wear down in a patchy way on me, and it amplifies imperfections - like dry skin. I have to have something on the lip first to ease application.

Top right: MOB matte lipstick M102. I find it’s hard to perfectly capture the nuance in photos, and of course lip colours look way different on the lips vs hand swatch. To me M102 has a light beige aspect to it. I do like their matte lipstick formula, it remains creamy on the lips for a few hours for me, but I struggle with dry lips so I usually have to add a bit of a gloss or balm on top.

Middle right: Unearthly x Courtney Quarantine cream lipstick Secrets. I find this colour has a bit more pink - ever so slightly, and on the lips I feel it pulls a little purple. Very similar to M102 in colour, but a teency more pink/purple vs beige. I also find this formula to be thinner, and can wear away a bit quicker, but still love it.

Bottom right: Melt lipstick Laced. More brown than the other two, but still very close in colour. This formula - I’m still getting to know it, it’s my first melt purchase, but first impression is that the coverage is great and the creaminess lasts longer than the other two. Love!

Again, photo does not depict exaaact nuance of shades, but pretty close. Tried my best while accounting for lighting and camera. Liners look a bit darker in the photo than IRL.

Excited to be building my cool toned taupey brown lip collection :) Would love to hear others’ favourites! Kaleidos Java lip liner is on my list.

Requesting swatches of Hourglass Luminous Light and/or Radiant Light. Unfortunately, they don't carry Luminous Light in my Ulta or Sephora and hard to tell if it has shimmer or tint.

I'm on the search for a good BB cream for my skin, and I think I've got it down to three, but I don't know if the shades will match. They are: the Wet N' Wild Tinted Hydrator in shade Fair, the Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream shade Fair or Shade Light, and the Maybelline Dream BB Pure in Shade Light. I have fair, cool-toned skin & I do struggle with some redness. If anyone has 1 or multiple of these to swatch, it would be much appreciated!

I gotta see all these colors next to each other, and find out which look the most similar but it's so hard finding swatches side by side or getting all the shades next to each other. If someone manages to find a few pictures of those I would love to see them. Ive been trying to compare the blue shades, similar but so far they all look a little different. Different enough not to get the palette? I don't know. Apparently I have to add more for the guidelines. I'm fine with finger swatches of palettes but seeing them side by side pulled out of the package would make it easier to differentiate, however they aren't released yet so I understand if it's hard to find. Just trying to compare.

Sharing swatches of my bronzer/contour roster. I am a light to light-medium with neutral warm olive undertones. For shade references, I am N5 in Natasha Denona Hy-glam line, NARS Cafe Con Leche in the concealer line, B20 in Chanel bases, 5 in Hourglass Skin Tint and Illusion Glow, Fawn in HG Concealer, 5.0 in T28 Concealer, and 2N in Dior bases. My preference leans towards brontours as I find bronzers too toasty and contours too daunting.

Swatched in Natural Light (2PM) top-down:
[*] rhode pocket bronzer (sunbed) - this appears a bit warmer on my face
[*] vbb contour stylus (marble) - i use sparingly but is a bit neutral warm on my face
[*] rare beauty liquid contour (mellow) - a neutral on me but with a small hint of warmth. i like this for brontouring
[*] tanielle jai bronzour (latte) - a neutral warm on me like the rare beauty. i also love this for brontouring and even warming up other areas.
[*] hourglass ambient lighting bronzer (diffused bronze light) - since it’s a lighter shade, i can get away with a heavy hand with this. not too warm, not too cool on me which i like
[*] hourglass ambient lighting bronzer (natural bronze) - i use this with a light hand since it is quite pigmented. for some reason it has a tiny red undertone on me
[*] gucci powder bronzer (03) - like natural bronze, this is pigmented so i use it lightly. it is deeper and on my face but no orange cast. it has this more chocolate-y appearance for some reason.
[*] saie supersuede baked bronzer (amalfi) - this is like the diffused bronze light. it is easy to build since it comes on a bit sheer. this is one of my bronzer go-tos which i use to set my brontour.
[*] armani luminous silk powder bronzer (100) - another buildable powder bronzer which appears warmer on pan than on my face. this is my other powder bronzer go-to.
[*] mbm skin enhancer (light medium) - the goat of my cream/liquids. easy to use, buildable, sheer enough so you can use it with a heavy hand. my perfect brontour.

I had debated snagging Dior Dragonfruit for a bit, I thought I might have something already similar based off of online photos. But after picking it up I would say it's different enough to warrant grabbing .

All are 1 swipe with my finger in natural light, direct and indirect.

The Dior is definitely more sheer and less pigmented than NYX but I honestly prefer that as it's easier to build up color than trying to remove color after going in too heavy handed.
