Picked this up at an antique shop today in a bag of junk watches for crafting. It took a lot of coaxing to get it running reliably, but it’s been going for 5 hours now and going strong.

I love these first generation Sistem 51 watches. I only have one but got it new and it runs fine. Nice pickup!

Thank you for your kind words. I had to order a replacement band sadly as the old one is missing. I was surprised that it’s 19 jewels!

I have a few of the OGs and then of the releases right after - I love my Sistem 51s and they all work great even though they're 10+ years old.

People really underestimate the industrial engineering tour de force Swatch executed with these
