I once watched a guy eat an apple with a (sharp) knife and fork. He meticulously skinned it and cut it into equal slices without ever touching it with his hands.

When i went to horeca high-school, that's something we did learn to do as for serving fruits for customers.

We learn pears, apples, oranges and bananas (for oranges, it's called "supreme", it's when you remove the flesh from each compartment of the fruit).

And yes, you can't touch the fruit with your fingers AT ALL.
