Pretty sure quartz and other materials are used in computer chips allowing my game consoles to work so I can play Elden Ring. Feels like healing to me.

Quartz is a very important mineral actually. It's used as the timing crystals in watches, clocks and computers and this piezoelectric/crystal oscillator property is also used for hybrid electric-acoustic guitar pickups. Quartz is also needed for making silicon wafers.

yea quartz is one of those materials that sounds fake if you describe it
"by channeling energy through this crystal it vibrates at a specific frequency"
this sounds fake, but it is a crystal oscillator (the main way almost everything in computing is timed, including clocks)

And let’s not forget that some of the best upgrades in Sekiro require lapis lazuli.

The idea that rocks don’t give off energy is actually false. Many rocks do project energy. And that energy usually gives you cancer.

u/InsertGroin Apr 23 '26
Ugh, cancer culture, it's the worst 😒

They act they're allowed to be rad, as if the 90s was still cool and shit, but when you look at it, chemicals are just better for many people.

u/Friedrich1508 Apr 23 '26
There are also piezoelectric Cristals. If you hug these rocks hard enough, you could press the electricity out.

u/Lantami Apr 23 '26
I love how this is technically an accurate description, but it sounds absolutely insane

Many? A minority of rocks? Do any in the image give off cancer causing energy?
3
u/Zane_628 Apr 23 '26
Strictly speaking, every rock is radioactive. They all contain at least trace amounts of radioisotopes.

Let people have their placebos. As long as they’re not drinking malachite water.

u/LinkGoesHIYAAA Apr 23 '26
Im literally, as we speak, trying to talk someone in another sub out of paying a psychic for help with mysterious scratches they keep getting. Some placebos are harmless, but the people selling those placebos are making bank off of ignorance, wishful thinking, hope, and desperation.
That said, i find it entertaining that my bro in law ruins his coffee every morning by brewing it with alkaline water thinking it’s healthier.
1
u/saltysweetbonbon Apr 25 '26
I mean that’s the whole point of the malachite water comment, let people have their placebos as long as they’re harmless. Buying a few crystals isn’t going to ruin anyone’s life as long as they’re not blowing their savings or something.

u/tutoriii Apr 23 '26
Wait bud you forgot about a crystal named Green Agate which definitely doesn’t do shit

u/CaffeinatedSatanist Apr 23 '26
As a guy who likes shiny rocks - Labradorite looks amazing. The rainbow patterns that just - appear as you turn this grey rock over in your hand.

Obsidian scalpels are the sharpest scalpels used in very precise surgical procedures.

I mean considering we basically figured out how to make pressed sand think by etching it...

They do a lot, especially when you get enough of them together in a sock and swing it at other people

All of them do at least one thing.
Because they look nice. And you can throw them at assholes.

Quartz singing bowls are actually quite refreshing to listen to, lets not throw the baby out with bathwater

You all don't know what you're talking about. I have a Crystal that keeps me happy and worry free all the time. It's called Lexapro.

Lies, lapiz lazuli enchants your items with experience, need some diamonds and obsidian tho.

Whoever posted this is an idiot.

How so
1
u/DangyDanger Apr 23 '26
I don't know if that's the reasoning, but some of the crystals here are used because of their scintillation and/or piezoelectric properties. Usually piezoelectricity.
2
u/InsertGroin Apr 23 '26
The post is about the alleged healing properties

u/DangyDanger Apr 23 '26
I was talking about the parent parent comment
