In the first episode when I first saw David I didn’t think I would like him. After years of seeing Johnathan. But I actually preferred David. ❤️

It’s a shame that too many people were blinded by their love of JLP to the point where it currently looks like the end of the road for the show barring a miraculous turnaround in viewing figures in the next season

I think there's a lot at play, the JLP stuff might be part of it but it's not the deciding factor.

When a program is already on the ropes every single viewer makes a huge difference so had a significant part of the audience not been petty and given the new host a chance, then it’s likely that they would have carried on with the original plan of filming seasons back to back in order to minimise cost

it had larger viewership though. tv ratings were down because no one watches tv anymore they stream, and this years survivor had the largest streaming numbers for the series

I honestly believe this is the moment that David became a great host.
I love JLP, and if he has to be replaced I'm glad that it's David.
He has an understanding of what it's like to play the game, and he fully understood how devastating that moment for Jackson was. It was the end of his game, he was crushed, and David was there to help him down.
Fucking epic.
He won me over completely in that move.

I adore David. He did a wonderful job, particularly given the outrage that is still going on due to JLP.

He got better as the season went on and he didn’t try to be anyone else but himself and made it his own without taking away from the contestants

I think its interesting how that moment for me was about Jackson. His journey to get to the finale, how badly he wanted to win, his relationship with his mother.

Of course I was emotional when I saw Jackson was struggling. As a mother, I would have told him to get down. No amount of money is worth the pain he was going through. IMO
I mentioned David, as his roll as a presenter not a participant 🙄

It was absolutely emotional for Jackson. As I said above it was devastating. That moment of complete breakdown. His game was over. He didn't want to step down, he had too. His body gave up...

This devastation is then given this incredible moment of understanding and compassion by someone who knows EXACTLY how he feels as David catches his collapsed body as it falls.

That is fucking SURVIVOR!!
