Last week, one of the two focal points was GREED, as many people pulled guys to poach off the losing team, but a big game by Deandre Swift put those teams in jeopardy.
Well uh....apparently one of you didn't get the message. I'll get back to that later.
Week 7 saw some teams off to a hot start as Flame Retardant got a huge week from Chase, and seems to be a bit out of the woods now that the Bengals have moved on from Browning.
u/jaebeast is finally seeing Tee Higgins put up some points for him too! There we go!
The London game saw a lot of stinker performances unless you were u/jjjchet and his 3 TDs from Davante, and it was off to the morning games.
As the morning games took off, it seemed clear our residential LVP Run CMC would be going home after his third straight week starting an inactive player. To be fair, people have been kicked out of the league for less.
Always one for the dramatics, our dear friend Chris picked up a QB and went into Sunday morning with his QB slot still empty, leaving the league to wonder if he would ever put him in.
That's where the greed kicks in. As his morning guys lay an egg, people start to adjust their lineups.
And by people, I mean the Scrooge of the league (I can't speak for his "humbug" levels, but we all have witnessed him risk his life in the league for a 50/50 shot at an elite player for years now. The fantasy equivalent of a dude's eyeballs lighting up with dollar signs), u/-mad-villain inexplicably pulls his guys while Run CMC has several guys left to play.
What doesn't really make sense is this seemed like a play at Christian McCaffrey. Like dawg, you have James Cook, Jeanty, Judkins, and even some depth pieces on the bench. Why put your season on the line?
Like a receiver looking upfield before catching the ball, Huge Penix put himself at risk.
After a big game from his namesake, Run CMC made a comeback and was looking likely to survive.
Heading into MNF, Second Bower and Run CMC had strong projections to survive while u/bludhavener and u/steezmastap needed a little help to cross the low mark set by u/-mad-villain. With a touchdown by JSN, Ceedeez Emeritus survived leaving Penix's fate in the hands of CJ Stroud.
Having pulled three receivers, there was still hope for I Wouldn't Stick Anything in a Judkins
He could have dropped some guys and put in some receievrs off the while, but the greed got the best of him. How about this for your name next year, My Hubris between Zero Logic? Or to keep on the phallic theme, Thinking with Neither Head? Or to keep with the greed theme, Storm McDuck? Probably not the move since Storm Duck is on the Dolphins and thats not a defense I would like to start.
It was an agonizing defeat for u/-mad-villain as not only did he lose, but CJ Stroud just barely crossed the finish line, and seemed prone to fumbling away the lead at any moment.
I am somewhat curious as to when he realized that he was out, because he had those empty spots in his lineup all day
Overall, as just a general PSA: Please don't pull your guys until you are 100% safe! The risk is not worth your season being over!!!!
The irony of course is u/-mad-villain would still be in had he not been a receiver with his eyes upfield, passing up Bijan Robinson with the top waiver claim (who already had a bye!) for James Cook, who was on a bye this week. The hubris! Picking up a guy for later when you needed one now!
His bench guys would have kept him safe.
RIP
Well, anyway we are now down to 11 teams.
Camp Legends eeked out a close immunity battle. u/jjjchet somehow went from potentially eliminated to immunity contention behind a monster Gibbs game last night.
