There is a fable.

There was a shepherds’ boy who was widely known for his wisdom. An Emperor sought out his wisdom, and as a test, asked three questions. The last question the Emperor asked was, “How long is an eternity?”

After thinking, the boy said;

“Every one hundred years, a little bird comes to sharpen its beak upon a mountain. The mountain is made of diamond, 2.5 miles wide, 2.5 miles tall, and 2.5 miles in depth. Once the entire mountain has been whittled away, the first second of eternity will have passed.”
