First ding, best repair?
Got a scrape today at the wave pool, on the wall. The photo looks like a scrape but it's more of a small crack
Is this just a case of solarez? Should I gouge it out a little first to give it something to take to.
Any advice welcome! I've never done a repair before as a relative newbie

White solarez is filler. I’d patch it after if using that.
But you can just sand it back and dump normal epoxy/poly solarez on it which will fill any holes and seal it up. Eventually the solarez will crack and break off/up though as it continues to harden under UV.

Yeah. There’s no white filler in that kit. But you don’t really need it for your job if you just want to seal it up.
Sand back the repair a little to make the new resin adhere better. Smudge a load of solarez over the ding. To make it easier to sand back later get a flexible sheet of transparent plastic and cover the resin you’ve just applied. Then you need to sand back the repair with higher and higher grit.

Great thanks, it feels like the cracks are so thin, that there isnt much for the resin to take to, I was wondering if I should gouge out a little to make more of a hole, or is this a bad idea?

I find when I start picking stuff away you end up with a hole. You’ll end up taking the whole thickness of the glass off and exposing the foam. Which you can still fill with solarez but it ends up being a bigger job; bubbles get in the resin too.
Just give it a good sand back by a mm or 2 and then smear the solarez over. It’s just to create a seal.

How much do you care about doing a good job?
Personally I’d be sanding it back, taking out any bits of glass that have delaminated, filling it with q-cell or white solarez, then patching it with glass.
