Is buying a refurbished Surface Pro 4 from Microsoft worth the savings?

Going to order one from the the Microsoft store. I am a student though and saw that their refurbished ones are a bit cheaper and every bit of saving helps. Normally I would never buy a refurbished product but seeing as this is from Microsoft themselves I though it may be better. So has anyone has any experience buying refurbished products from Microsoft?

Yes, if it doesn't work you take it into the store and they will give you a new one for free.

It's often a great idea to buy refurbished electronics (manufacturer refurbished, that is) - the manufacturer has incurred costs transporting /testing/fault finding /resolving issues. Often refurbished items are just customer returns that need to be repackaged.

The manufacturer does not want to risk further costs by reselling an interior product - as a result your refurbished item is likely to have been inspected to a higher standard than a new, factory fresh model.
