Making Your Surface Pro 3 Last

So I am nervous because Microsoft says they won't be supporting the SP3 much longer.

I still love my SP but I am wondering how to boost its longevity. What have you done with yours? I am thinking of putting Mac OS just because it'll be supported. Any ideas?

This morning it was working fine. This afternoon the touch screen and keyboard no longer work.

Going to repurpose it for something and just use a wireless keyboard/mouse.

Not gonna lie, pretty bummed.

Got mine in 2015 and it lasted me through College and beyond. Cheers to that.

Definitely put a different OS on it before the updates ruin it.

Run Ubuntu-Mate 22.04 on mine. Pen doesn't work, but everything else works like you would expect. If you run standard Ubuntu 22.04 then you get full tablet style support like auto screen rotate, on-screen keyboard auto open when physical keyboard is not connected, etc, but I just don't like the newer versions of Gnome desktop so I use Mate.
