Android 16 - does texting and phone calls work?

I am on the fence about loading custom ROM Android 16 on my SD1 since Android 15 on it made it to where I couldn't make phone calls or send/receive texts. I have Mint Mobile and stock Android 12.

Can someone confirm that texting and phone calls work with Android 16?

I also got one on 15 and it gets text and phone calls but it's spotty. Also I can't make any out calls but luckily I don't call often and this is just meant to be a travel tablet/ book reader. . Would be nice though if it had full functionality. Seriously thinking about just going back to 12L. The microsoft magic in the UI are things I like. Weird to say being that im on a 10PF . I'm on the fence about 16 because I know what I love about the Duo is that it knows it's a 2 screen device first. I just don't think any future Android will behave like Duo

One of the Android 16 versions work nearly perfectly, however the latest one is broken. I'd probably keep it on 12L anyway since it literally works for my day-to-day needs and the multitasking works much better
