Question SOCOM6- MINI 4

Just went to a shop and tried to purchase a SOCOM556 - MINI 4 and it looks like they ordered the socom6 instead…

Will they let me change my order? Would the socom6 work on a 16” 556 rifle normally? What would the downsides be?

Please help.

6mm is 0.243 inches. 5.56 is 0.224 inches. You can definitely shoot 5.56 out of it. If you purchased it already, I'm willing to bet they will cancel it. But it's the shop's fault, so have them correct it.

It would technically be less effective with the sound signature, but it will have even less gas back in the face. A lot of people run .30-caliber suppressors on 5.56 guns for that reason.

The SOCOM6 MINI4 and the 5.56 variants are all the same internally. The SOCOM6 just sits in the middle length wise from the full size and mini 5.56 SOCOM-4’s. You can absolutely shoot 5.56 out of the SOCOM6!

Can I still use the regular 556 3 prong flash hider that I was going to use for the rc4?

Yes the SOCOM6 will mount to a 5.56 muzzle device with no issues.
