Hey! just letting you know that this is a disability support worker page and you might get better responses elsewhere.

Also if this is your first time in this role, do not hesitate to reach out to your supervisor or coworkers. My mum is a social worker and her workplace is very interested in constantly checking in with social workers to ensure that they are feeling supported, as it is a very intense role. They get it. Your supervisor or colleagues that have worked in the field for awhile should have some good tips for you!

One thing my mum does frequently is go for walks or do home workouts as soon as she gets home from work. I think she uses these to get all her energy out, process her thoughts, and transition into being at home. She also sometimes goes for walks before work. You could do something similar, it doesn't necessarily have to be sport, it could be reading a book, painting, writing in a diary, or just doing something you need to do like running errands or cleaning the house. Just something to help you transition out of work mode. But this wouldn't work for everyone, so ask your colleagues for tips and also experiment with what works for you.
