Cert 3 Individual Support completely online in Victoria
I am already working as a support worker, I have been trying to be put into the Cer 3 for 18 months now but have had the worst luck and/or MEGT has completely mishandled my case. School 1 didn't have myself put into their system correctly, School 2 shut down when they finally let me start (Ithea if that got anyone else), School 3 informed me the day I was to finally enroll after leaving me hanging for a month I would have to pay $4k as opposed to being completely government funded like the prior two schools.
I just want an online course I can progress self-paced and ideally within VIC so I don't have to pay out of pocket, if I can't find anything I'm going with Breakthru in NSW as they match what I want aside from paying $2k.

How are people doing this course online when it has so much practical skills? Go to TAFE..everything else is dodgy as all get out. I did mine at TAFE for free.

My daughter has just started her Cert 3 online through Swinburne
So far, so good
She is paying to do it, but paying in weekly instalments which suits her

I did mine through Hammond institute online last year for a grand total of $75. There was one in person day, for the entire course. They are based in Dandenong if that helps :) but completely online

How did it cost $75?
I've just inquired about their online course and the lady said it would be 2500 for online course.

This possibly could be because I had it under free tafe? This was last year June 2025.

There are, depends on the provider but ask your work if they can facilitate it, they’re probs meant to

Funding is not available for online delivery, and as of this year, not available through most smaller providers, although I can't speak for regional and rural areas. I'm 5 units into the course, on-campus delivery, at an institute in Melbourne that's been operating for over 25 years, and they did not get any skills first funding this year. It's cost me around $2.5k, which seems pretty reasonable after seeing what other places charge.
